I've spent hour upon hours shooting product images in a small room with 3 x 1000W soft boxes at full blast. No more I say, LED FTW! These run so cool, and only use I think around 38W. I plan on doing A LOT with these lights so I'm glad I made the investment. Time to put them to work!

My first impressions so far are very good. The stands are sturdy, the parts all feel good, LEDs appear bright, and there is ZERO flicker at any setting.

$620 for the pair? yikes.

I'd just DIY them and spend the remaining $500 elsewhere. But then again, those do look quite nice and professional.

Ya, I know I went a little crazy, but I wanted GOOD LED panels. These aren't even that expensive at all really, the panels can get into the $1000s a piece fast. Check this one out http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1248140-REG/lumos_700gt_mk_700gt_mk_vari_color_daylight_balanced.html

I'll be using these for video and LOTS of photos so I'm happy with them biggrin.gif They also come with stands, barns doors and gels, so you get a good amount of extras

Haha, I know, gotta wonder if those actually give any mayor improvements over your $300 panels.

Wasn't trying to bash your purchase or anything. If you're doing this as a serious hobbyist or professionally, $600 is probably a pretty minor investment as far as far as film/photography stuff goes.

But I was under the impression you just got these because the natural lighting wasn't cutting it for your build log pics, so it seemed a bit outrageous. tongue.gif

Nothing I would probably notice anyways. tongue.gif

I didn't think you were bashing me thumb.gif I will be using these for much more than just a build log. I still do some CL product photography, and not having to use equipment at the shop, or shoot photos at the shop, is a big plus. I will also plan on doing some product videos with these lights for YouTube. Considering what I'm using them for, I would consider them being used for "professional" use.

Great shots! I've been meaning to take some of mine, but it looks like a bomb went off near my work space. I turn into the Tasmanian Devil when I start on a build biggrin.gif
