I can't set my video card to 1920x1080 120p

Hi all,

I have a ATI Radeon HD 4850 and a BenQ HT1085ST connected with a HDMI 1.3 cable.

I used ToastyX CRU to enable the 120Hz.. But I see all the others 120Hz mode I created but not 1920x1080.

Is it because the HDMI 1.3 cable made the system to hide that mode?

I am using Windows 10

Thanks,

Maybe the cable is damaged or something. HDMI 1.3 cable should be sufficient for 1080p @ 120Hz.

Some say the cable has nothing to due with selecting the resolution. So is it because my video card just doesn't support 1920 x 1080 @ 120Hhz?

I know nothing about that projector and the Benq page you linked doesn't give the HDMI limits.
Some new monitors support full 120hz at 1920x1080 over HDMI, but I'm MORE than 100% sure the HD 4850 does NOT support this.
I'm pretty sure that the R9 290X DOES support this and may be the first video card in the Radeon line to support 120hz HDMI at 1080p.

Thank you! I was afraid this was the fact that my video card doesn't support it. Well at least I can save time troubleshooting now. Time for a new video card. Should I get a nVidia or AMD? I heard nVidia needs an additional emitter to link to DLP?
