Folks

So after 10 years of using ASUS Commando ) ! i finally moved to a another ROG smile.gif
The ASUS Commando was excellent board, no issues whatever but its time for something new these dates ...
I just did an order on ASUS ROG Maximus VIII @ intel with intel I5-6600k and other $$$ as below :

http://pcpartpicker.com/list/YxnhgL

Questions :

1. Where to find link to overclock this combo ? All i see is ASUS ROG Maximus VIII with Intel I7-6700k but not with I5
2. Which Operating System do you use these days ? I am still using Window 7 can u use same OP or I need to move to Win 8 or 10
to be able to get the most of this system

Thanks !

1. If that's a overclocking guide on the i7-6700K then it will work for the i5-6600K too.

2. I myself use Windows 10. That's up to you on what you want to use.

If you want to play direct X 12 games upgrade to Windows 10.

If not, better to stay on Windows 7 for now. Though Windows 10 appears to have a faster boot time for some people when compared to Windows 7.

thanks !
1. there are a lot of threads for i7-6700K & ASUS ROG Maximus VIII but not much for i5-6600K & ASUS ROG Maximus VIII
I dont understand why if i can overclock i5-6600K to almost same speed as i7-6700K smile.gif
2. looks like i need to move to Windows 10 just because of direct X 12 frown.gif even i hate it ...

Because the i7 usually just requires a bit more CPU voltage and heats up more than the i5.
