I said at the time I bought the Titans that I had more money than sense. Its not a diss, its just a reality. I would bet that the majority of buyers of this card are not even using 4K so this is mostly just a $1200 epeen machine. That said, its a very, very good epeen machine! Wish I had more money than sense anymore but I just bought a new Shoei X-14 and a Sena 10C so my spending funds are depleted...

Dunno about games but in the benching section no 1080 even comes close to my scores in FS, 3DMark11, Heaven, and Valley...

$1200 is already crazy for a card. I would laugh at a $2000 card. I've got my limits like anyone else, lol. Let's just hope AMD comes and saves the day sooner rather than later.

We finally have, for the first time, a single card that is significantly faster than two OG Titans so congrats to all those new Titan XP owners who have more money than sense! Got yourselves a beast for sure! biggrin.gif

I thought 1080 already did that in games.

Probably in reviews, but not in the hands of an aficionado. A 1080 can only dream... I still haven't seen a 1080 that's better than my previous 970's, and the OG titan is faster when OC'ed, so....

I don't play on 4K. But I need every bit of the power this Beast provide's to run max settings including AA @3440x1440p @100 fps constant. Will it be as fast as my current setup? Not quite but it's the novelty of the thing and getting back to a single card and the 12gb is nice as well. Titan is not for everyone but it definitely has its place in other display arena's not just 4K.

Like I said, it really was not a diss at all. Every purchase I have made for my rig was absolutely epeen related (that's just the way I used to roll) and I have no problem with somebody buying two of these cards to play on 720p if that's what they want to do! Hell, buy a third to hang on the wall if you want to, knock yourselves out! That said, the practical application for this kind of money has to be at minimum 4K at 60Hz and even then a 1080 is close enough for half the cost. But damn, this thing is incredible like we knew it would be. No HBM2 is the only criticism I can make against it (beside the obvious price issue). I have no problem admitting that I'm super jealous of you guys (especially those doing it right and getting TWO of them)!!! wink.gif

I'm sure i won't spend that kind of money just to play games which I don't have much time for as it is. I'm basically making up for when I was younger. No money but all the time in the world. Now I have money and not much time. 😕

Why do people need to defend other people's buying decisions? lawl? The card's price is very much a factor of itself and deserves critique. Again, for nearly 2x performance as a 980 ti, it costs 3.5x as much and it still isn't fully DX12-compliant! What an investment when DX12/Vulkan games have arrived...

Agree, this card is not meant to be for most Bang for Your Buck. Why do people buy Aventador's when they can get around in a Prius.
