That's not too far off.

That's 1440p and 1080p.
But the reviews I've seen are that 1070 is slower than 980Ti and especially overclocked it comes within 10% of 1080, leaving 1070 behind.

You can't just subtract percentage numbers from there when those are relative values.

It clearly shows that 1070 is faster than 980Ti. Which it isn't. They are about the same. Relative or not, if they are the same speed, the percentage should be the same, not different.

Stock vs Stock 1070 is about 10% faster than 980ti in pretty much every benchmarks I saw, which falls pretty much in line with those results.

5% over reference 1070 with async on, you call that a stomping ? what is 1070 doing to Fury X as far as overall performance then ? "Mandhandling" doesn't do it justice.

I wish AMD fanboys wouldn't pollute the thread with this nonsense. Async is barely making amd lineup keep up with maxwell cards, that is before they're overclocked.

1070 is faster than 980Ti when both are at stock/reference, this is entirely down to the 1070 and its faster clocks. That's all there is to it.

it's down to power consumption, which lets 1070 run higher clocks without that much power. 980Ti will be faster, but close to 300W to beat a custom 1070 like Gaming X

Maybe AMD will shrink Fiji, like they shrink Hawaii? Older architecture, and better in newer games after all? wink.gif

Edit: But honestly, would anybody chose GTX 980 over 390X? Just curious?
