So, next time, please think about the argument before you try to insult the person you're responding to.

SLI isn't 30% scaling either; 1080 SLI performs much better and is a much better value proposition. Additionally, I doubt many games (other than brand new releases) that don't support SLI wouldn't be maxed out with one. Of course the Titan X has the advantage of being the fastest single card on the market and that's why NVIDIA is able to charge this price, but that doesn't mean that the price isn't horrible, even if it's the only option available for those who fit in the only two niches it's remotely appealing to (people who demand a single GPU faster than a 1080 or people who want to get more performance than 1080 SLI by SLI'ing these TXs, since NVIDIA no longer allows three-way SLI on Gx104 cards in yet another insult to its customers, LOL).

Think about the argument before "insulting" you? You provided practically zero detail in your original post. If you want people to get your message you have to articulate it.

People are so stupid, this isn't the year 2000 anymore, for daily productivity and gaming, more bandwidth give you almost no performance difference and it applies to both cpu and gpu.

SLI 1080s would destroy one Titan XP in games like the Battlefields. Thats were I spend most of my time anyway, so its a no brainer for me.
Saying that that though i'd love sli Titan XPs.

Bandwidth does in fact make a difference on the GPU and CPU. Do more research.

Not really an outlier. SLI 1080 is so fast it's just CPU bottlenecked at those resolutions for games that scale at all.
https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_1080_SLI/20.html
post #249 of 410
But at 4K, SLI 1080 isn't that much better than a Titan XP.

A TXP is 130% of a 1080.

1080 SLI when scaling is on average ~30% faster than a single TXP ( 1.3 * 1.3 = 1.69)
1080 SLI is also $100 more expensive assuming $650 each, so 1080 SLI is 20% more cost effective than a TXP.

For games that don't scale, it's 30% less cost effective than a single TXP.
With TPU's mix of games, it's 10% more cost effective than a single TXP.

TXP can also overclock a bit higher due to lower stock clocks, but noise becomes an issue.

Unless you're certain what you're playing for the next two years will scale well, I think TXP is the better purchase between two very cost ineffective purchases biggrin.gif
