AMD hasn't done their part at the high end thus far, that's fair enough. But, it's exceedingly unlikely that Nvidia had to price things the way that they did in order to turn a profit, or that they wouldn't have made loads of money without the FE scheme. That takes things beyond the scope of GPU's into the abuse of market position in an industry with massive barriers to entry and would take us into 'against-the-rules' territory. Suffice it to say that I think laying Nvidia's pricing at the feet of AMD is simplistic.
As far as 'crying' about the price, as I mentioned earlier there is an Owner's thread. That's where one should probably seek discussions of the Titan divorced from notions of price/performance. To the average tech-enthusiast who isn't buying a Titan, the two obvious qualities inherent to the range are exceptional performance and exceptional price.
