Well I'm butthurt, went from a Overlord X270OC that could only overclock to around 80hz (did 100hz but the coil whine on bright white was unbearable) to a LG 24" 144hz 1080p monitor biggrin.gif

oh if only Free/G Sync was sorted.

Well at least you don't have to worry about updating your gpu's every generation and spending gobs of money just to run decent frame rates at 4K. I am sure 4K is nice and all, but I don't want the hassle or the expense. I will go 4K when a $400-450 gpu is all that is needed to max out games at 4K with decent frame rates.

You need 4 Titan XPs to build a 5x3 4k wall.

Or you could just buy a projector lol but that is too cheap for the Fanboys.

This is why right now, 1440p@120Hz is the best affordable experience with a 1070 or 980 ti. Not ever touching 60Hz again, unless it's Witcher 4 -- I'll go as low as 50Hz for only that.

You won't be getting 240 FPS in some games unless you happen to have a 6 or 7 or 8 or 20 GHz Skylake chip.

I don't need instruction on how exploitative practices work. I'm simply saying that I don't agree with them. As I'm not arguing facts it's the literal definition of opinion and ours evidently differ. This is fine. None of what you say argues against my primary point in all of this which is that expecting no discussion of price when discussing a retail product in the news section is silly.

OK, so you never went to business school, so why debate items your a layman at?

True. Even old games. In fact, especially not old games, because they're all bound up on 1-2 threads. Good luck getting Crysis running at a consistent 60fps, let alone 240fps. UT2004? A 4GHz 4790K can't sustain 120fps in a 12 player onslaught match thanks to the CPU bottleneck. With the current CPU stagnation, how long will we have to wait for a CPU twice as fast as a 4GHz 4790k? Not to mention that some engines start to act weird at high frame rates.
