Error code 43. GPU dead?

Thread Starter
So yesterday I was playing a game and my screen suddenly froze. I had to hard reset and when I logged back in my screen resolution was lowered. When I checked in 'Device Manager' there was a 'Yellow triangle' over my GPU. When I clicked on properties for further details I was presented with 'Error code 43'
Here is what I have done so far to get this issue resolved:?
1) Disabled and re enabled the driver. (DID NOT WORK)
2) Uninstalled the drivers and did a clean install of them (DID NOT WORK)
3) Reinstalled the OS and then tried installing the drivers (DID NOT WORK)

I have exhausted pretty much all of the options that I found on the internet and now I don't know what to do.
Is my GPU dead? It is a 5 year old card, so I understand that it could have gone belly up.
But I would like to certain that it is indeed an hardware failure and not software issue before replacing the card.

Any help is highly appreciated. Thank you.

try following these instructions.
If that doesn't do it, sounds like it is time for a new card, or RMA if you have warranty.

PS: If you do end up needing a new card. The new GTX 1060 is an amazing value, and would get you an great upgrade compared to the old card.

have you tried using display driver uninstaller in safe mode to completely remove all sign of the driver then do a clean install of said driver. I had this issue with my gtx 580 sli and this worked like a charm smile.gif
