I think 1050 may very well land on the same $179 MSRP price.

If they did "starting at $200". If it were 90% of 1060 performance, at $200 if would be about same as 480 performance for >$40 less

So much for a $179 RX 470 rolleyes.gif
Seems to be the general consensus everywhere but here...

This morning I also saw a msi gaming (I think gaming x but don't remember 100%) 470 for $180 at once place and $190 at another

lol......

AMD, you already messed up the 480, now you price this one this high, so high that the AiBs exceed the reference 480 by quite a bit

You want to kill Nvidia in the mainstream sector and yet you love your profit margin so much you are not even willing to sacrifice that one bit to achieve your goal. That REALLY doesn't help fighting against the 1060

The pricing and availability on the RX 470 and RX 480 has been a farce. I was really hoping AMD would get their act together this round, but they're still stumbling over themselves even when Nvidia gave them a window of opportunity by pulling their Founders Edition garbage on consumers.

I'm going to want an upgrade to my GTX 760 in the near future and with the way the GeForce 10 series has been thrashing the resale value of the 900 series, I think I'll be refocusing on a used GTX 980.

yes but what is not overpriced these days.
for $200 you can have an aib rx470 or a reference rx480, that's not a bad choice given that gtx 1060 starts at $250 and some ppl count every penny. I'm sure there will be $160 AIB rx470s soon.

Is there a specific reason why eteknix.com is never quoted? (Had RX 480 tests before guru..)

Ill poke at it when mine gets here. The Sapphire card just happened to be the one in stock when I decided to order one. Going to bump fan speeds on it and see how it does. After that I am totally down for BIOS mods and experimental flashing. Either way, its going to be a pretty big step forward from the 750 Ti and R7 265 (both with hand tuned BIOS) that have been making the rounds in my personal rigs.

Funny how reviewers are quick to point fingers at AMD pricing, yet bend over for Nvidia and their $1200 GPUs. The bias is so obvious that it's pathetic.

How... does this.... even happen?

People can go on about how NVidia charges so much yada yada, but like, at least they put SOME thought into how they are pricing things. I mean, sure you could blame the AIB's but AMD should not even allow this type of thing to happen. Take some freaking pride in your products, this looks so embarrassing.

It's not that either card is a bad deal, it is the fact that it looks like AMD just tossed its hands up in there air and said "who cares, it's cheap" when planning out the release.
Sorry AMD

I've seen it happen in the past where an OOS item price was not accurate. Don't blame AMD.

Those OOS items are priced the same as at release, I have seen them in stock at those prices.
