75hz on 1920x1080 but not 1280x720

Thread Starter
Hello

I have an issue where I am not able to run the resolution 1280x720 at 75hz, but I can run all other resolutions at 75hz. I am setting this in the Custom Resolutions section in the latest crimson drivers.
I have a Radeon 7770 and I have been able to run 720p at 75hz before in Counter-Strike. My desktop res is 1080p@75 but as soon as I load CSGO at 720p it defaults to 60/59 hz.

Help is very much appreciated
Cheers, REDSOCKS

Fullscreen programs set their own display modes, this is often a problem for >60hz users. There should be a setting in the game itself that lets you change resolution and refresh rate, but some games lack this.. when they don't have it, there's sometimes a config file that you can change.

A quick workaround is running in windowed fullscreen which will use the desktop mode but windows 8 and 10 will add a noticable amount of input lag if you do this as they run triple buffered vsync then, windows 7 can disable that by using certain themes.

Another workaround would be to have a 1280x720@75hz resolution but delete all of the other ones, that way it will usually work at that refresh rate when you select that resolution
