AMD Phenom II 840 or Intel Duo G2120 - Page 2

I have also noticed that the 840 don't have any L3 cache.
I do have a Amd phenom x4 965 and this have L3 cache and twice as big L1 cache.
Only problem is that the only motherboard I have now is a mitx that according to the manual have max cpu tdp of 95W. Throw it in an see what happens? I believe the board only have 1 or 2 VRM's.

I've not seen motherboards with only two VRM, there are 2+1 (MSI), 3+1 or 4+1. The cache does make a difference but it's not enough to matter now. Also WoT and SC2 are pretty old games now, especially SC2 that is coded in x87. Play some other games (more modern ones) and you will see GPU use increase.

Ok, can give it a go on Doom on Vulkan API, see what happens.
I am just doing this for research anyway:)

Which board do you have? I'm really curious now.

It is an ASUS M4A88T-I Deluxe.

From the manual:

The VRM's are more nicely lined up on my MSI motherboard, is it 1 or 2 VRM's? (R20 and 1R2)

Holy Crap, Doom is actually "playable". Not for my personal rig, but for a PC that is free.
GPU usage to 100% on 1080p medium settings, lowes fps i saw was 33 and it stayed around 40-50.

I absolutely love Vulkan, my R9 290 had very good performance as well.

Tried SC2 and World of tanks and never saw the GPU (GTX760) usage go above 60%. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Edit: World of tanks retested, GPU usage up to 100%. 60 FPS gameplay. Works fine.

Actually I can't tell how many there are but it looks like it's 3+1, which would be minimum if the board supports 95W chips.
