Whats happening with gigabyte 1000 series going so cheap?

Hi guys, I always liked gigabyte products. This is just a call to make some people at gigabyte rethink their strategy.

G1 products on video cards, always showed top quality.

The other day I got a g1 1070.

It´s incredible how cheap they were on quality. Most of the heatsink is covered with cheap plastic that bends only looking at.

The heatsink only got 2 heatpipes. Asus uses 5 heatpipes. Msi also 5.

Looking at the pictures, looks like heatpipes doenst cover the full die.

So, in the end, you get the loudest gaming card on market, cause cheap heatsink cant take all the heat.

Hope they start making better products in the future. This is such a low quality for a G1 branded.

I miss the metal cover Windforce cooler too.

I was impressed by the quality of the R9 290, but the 1070 G1 and 1080 WF both use plastics, and the orange ruins the look.

Well, it also look a lot worse than the previous series with the ugly black with orange stripes.

But thats about tastes.

Wonder how any review didnt noticed the low quality, the subpar heatsink, even the gpu die zone doesnt have marks like any other cards, looks like it s not finished!

Looks like if was a series rushed to the market.

If you have a wider or larger case, go to another brand. Unless you pay a cheap price, this is not a premium product.

Well for one the Gigabyte products have been available at much lower prices when I was shopping (by like 50$ on the 1080)

And the cooler is still reasonably good. Trading a 5-10% cost saving for a slightly worse cooler is.. very fair. Seems like irrational complaining.

So, you dont see anything wrong with g1 900 series being top quality and g1 1000 series being low quality?

Consumer expect similar products on the same product line.

Gigabyte didnt deliver.

Is hard to compare prices, not sure whats the recommended price cause stock is still a problem.

On most sites differences between g1 and other cards, are on the $20 or 30.

I do see your complaint now - that no reviews mention the changes and you assume it's the same as before. I coulda sworn the G1 1080 was $629.99 and now its $649.99, so in that case there are better options at that price IMO

It s a shame. I really liked the g1 series.

As I said, no idea about official prices.

These cards should compete with other gaming series, and gigabyte offer less, for almost the same money.

G1 was a safe buy. Now it s just barely better than reference model.

Still cant find many reviews of the extreme series and are hard to find on stores. Hope at least they are on par with other cards.

Well, after looking all cards. Cant find any louder card than gigabyte g1.

May I know why did you do that, gb? Do you hate your customers that much?
