390X or 480? - Page 2

New 390Xs are going for low $300s last time I checked.

For $350 you could get yourself a nice R9 Fury with HBM memory.

There was one for $250 on newegg yesterday. Appears to be gone now. I thought about getting a fury but the 4gb of memory has me weary.

Jeez, $250 that's a pretty insane deal.

I took the plunge and bought one through Amazon last night, $350.

I'm the kinda person that says "Flagship or nothing" I'd said 390X if you want to spend money right now.

But if you can wait or spend a bit more, wait for VEGA, or spend money for a Fury X. They keep going on sale from various vendors.
I got my Fury X for 400$ a month ago.

I wouldn't go for a RX 480 because it's simply not in range of top power options.

How long are we talking before vega comes out? Last I heard was sometime next year.

4GB Vram is still a good amount, depends on what games you play at what res and how long you want to keep the card but it is still very viable with 1440p screens and current games.

4GB will be fine even for 4K.
