Does having more headroom mean better efficiency?

So my system only uses bout 600W but I'm wanting to increase the efficiency of the system and I was thinking of getting a 1600W T2. I've heard that a PSU at 25% load is a lot more efficient then at 50%, and so fourth.

No, PSU efficiency is max at 50%, 25% is less efficient.

The T2 in question

For maximum power efficiency, you would want your system to draw around 50-60% of the supply's total capacity. I'm not sure how much of an efficiency difference this makes, though, so it may not be worth the money spent on a higher wattage supply.

What you heard is wrong and is the opposite of how it actually works

What PSU do you have now and what do you have in your system?
Does it even draw 600 watts and where did you get that number from? not 100% sure but that number might be wrong as well.

Just a estimation, more or less was just trying to explain what I was asking xD but from what I'm getting at the peak performance is around 40-60%, even EVGA customer support suggested 50%.

I'll be running an i7 6700K and two 1080s all overclocked with 64gb of DDR4 ram.

1000P2, according to cooler master with 8 140 fans, liquid cooling system, and everything else is only use around 750Watts so the 1600W maybe worth it? I'd be pretty close to the peak efficiency but idk.

No its not its a waste of money getting a 1600 watt T2 as your efficiency is going to be almost the same as what you get now
There is no reason to replace your 1000 watt P2, keep it and spend money on something that you would actually benefit from.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking, but was a thought nonetheless lol
