First build!

So this was a build for my daughter and also my first build. It was supposed to be a budget build but I ended up spending more than I planned or wanted to. I decided on this build because my neighbor gave me a stack of various motherboards that a tenant in one of his rentals left behind. Most of the boards were 1155 sockets and it appeared a few of them were brand new with everything sealed. However this turned out not to be the case and none of the mobo worked. This however gave me the opportunity to practice disassembling and reassembling this thing several times lol.

Parts list

PSU: thermaltake TR2 700w $32.99 after mail in rebate from newegg

Hard drive: PNY CS1311 240gb SSD $59.99 from newegg.

Graphics card: XFX Radeon HD6450 $19.99 after mail in rebate from newegg

Case: corsair spec alpha $65.59 after mail in rebate from frys

MOBO: Intel DZ77SL-50K $55 from eBay

Memory: corsair vengeance 1600 I bought 64gb for $90 from someone on Craigslist but only 32gb is installed.

CPU: Intel i3 3240 $53.75 from ebay

CPU cooler: deep cool gammaxx 400 $27.95 from Amazon

I ended up spending more on the ram than I wanted to but I thought $90 for 64gb was a good deal and I plan to use the other 32gb when I build myself a system. I also spent more on the case than I wanted to but my daughter wanted this particular case as it came in a teal color at frys. I figured I could always upgrade the processor and video card in the future if needed but for right now this works perfect for her. As you can see from the one picture I still have some work to do and need to get in there for some cable management.

Cool build. I love how you maxed out on RAM since so many people overlook that when it comes to budget rigs.

And the addiction begins... I did something similar for my first build... I pieced it together on craigslist and ebay mostly. When i was done i was soo proud but shortly after i was itching to put one together with the latest tech, now im broke and i still want more hahah. Good luck!

I would have been fine with 8-16gb of ram and upgrading later but couldn't find a decent deal so when someone offered to sell me the 64gb for 90 bucks I jumped on it. I know what you mean Infinite right after I finished I wondered if I should have spent more $ and done a sky lake build lol.
