Corsair CX750M noise.

Thread Starter
Hi, I have a Corsair CX750M Power supply. Its was purchased new. Iv noticed that their is noise coming from the unit, high pitched noises, sometimes low,. Seems to be prominent when idle, during load it goes away. I can hear it when I have my headphones hooked up to the phono plugs on the motherboard. Power supply seems to work normal, under-load exhaust fan seems cool. Anyone have similar effect and solution? Sending it back is not an option. Thanks all

Why is sending it back not an option?

As for the CX750 there is a reason why its so cheap
Why you should not buy a Corsair CX750

Looking at your sig you dont need a 750 watt PSU either so send it back and get a good 550 watt PSU instead.

I discarded the box and receipt, which i never do. Any suggestions on a solid PSU? And as far as cheap? at $99,99 I wouldnt call it cheap. And Corsair signature on it is good, plus I read very good reviews on it.

Its one of the most mediocre units around and at $99 its a bit overpriced
Those so called reviews you saw are wrong so you wasted your time reading them

The Corsair RMx series have rebates on them on newegg so thats the best option right now.

Where did you purchase it from and how did you pay for it?

From Corsair's RMA guidelines:
Quote:
A valid proof of purchase is required for RMA processing (i.e. receipt, invoice, copy of credit card statement).

Dont get an HXi when there is a better version that is also cheaper
Corsair RMi and RMx series explained

The RMi and RMx uses the same platform as the HXi its just been improved and its cheaper so the HXi is not worth buying.

So you have absolutely no way of pulling up a receipt from either the e-tailer or your credit card company?

Weird. Is the PSU stolen? Just kidding... a gift?

Cash purchase at Best Buy, 15 day return policy, I dont have receipt so....Its not a bad PSU, and after research its known knowledge that it makes intermittent noise. The exhaust at load is quite cool which means its running efficiently it will do for now, i already broke the bank on this build. lol
