Returning to air cooling cpu, best 50$ and under? - Page 4

I would save some money and pick up this guy as it's on sale and a very good cooler. https://www.coolerguys.com/products/spire-coolgate-2012-sp988b1-v3-pwm-cpu-cooler

Yea, the PH-TC12DX would be a cheaper option, I think they are overpriced at $50 for sure. The Deepcool is one I'm very impressed with. Since I picked up a Lucifer v2 for $40 CAD (thats like $5 USD!!! laughingsmiley.gif ) I've been crazy impressed with it. I think this one is $50 at newegg.com now as well, so there might be better sales at this price. H5/H7 are also good.

I find it hard getting good cooler comparisons but from a quick google Tweaktown has a review with an H7 and a Lucifer (v1 I think) and the Lucifer offers better cooling at lower noise levels than the h7. You can look here.

Edit> Also, if your interested in crazy cheap, but half decent coolers that perform close to 212 levels check out some of the Deepcool Gammax coolers. Crazy cheap and go on sale often. I feel like a Deepcool rep at times these days, but they seriously deliver in price/performance coolers these days.

Not a problem. Glad you understand. thumb.gif

Ph-TC14DX is more like a $35.00 cooler.

Lucifer is quite good. Much bigger and better than H7. They are really not comparable. Lucifer prices vary a lot, so good deal if found at lower price, but often not price effective.
Gammax is not bad either.

I have not used any GamerStorm coolers, but have used Alpenfohn, their EU counterpart. It's kinda funny though, because the coolers one sells are usually not sold by the other. Matterhorn, Olymp, Brocken etc. I am familiar with, but most of the GamerStorm Deep Cool I am not.

You might find this test data comparing NH-U14S, True Spirit 140 Rev.A and Power, Lucifer, PH-TC12DX, Hyper 212, etc.

Maybe they just don't fit people's visual styling? That's all I got, it's the only reason I don't want them because cryorig is prettier xP

I'm sorry, but those review results are atypical. Ninja is normally several degrees warmer than D15 and similar coolers. I have no idea why, i only know they don't look right.

Yea, I don't look at cooler performance often, but after buying one not long ago and some quick googles since entering this thread, those results looked odd, but I wasn't sure.

No distribution in the Americas.

I just looked and Scythe show lots of USA retailers, like 38. Micro Center looks like the biggest.

I stand corrected, this is a new development. They are back in the US. They were absent for several years.
