[Build Log] Worlds Fastest Airstream Drawer Computer?

I've decided to put a gaming rig in my Airstream. Space is limited of course, so I will be using a drawer under the dinette seat.

Parts list:

1. Silicone Lottery 4.4 GHz i7 6950X - I hope to squeeze 4.5 out of it if I'm lucky.
2. Rampage V Extreme Edition 10.
3. 32 GB (4x8GB) G.Skill 3200 MHz CL14 DDR4.
4. Two Titan-XP's in SLI.
5. Samsung 1TB SM961 SSD.
6. Corsair AX1500i Power Supply.

Since the system will have to deal with vibrations during travel and air cooling has gotten so good, I will be forgoing water cooling.

1. Noctua NH-D15 CPU cooler.
2. Two Arctic Accelero III GPU coolers with resistor shunt mod.
3. 200mm intake fan for compartment overpressurization.

Display:

1. Asus ROG SWIFT PG348Q. (Until an OLED computer monitor comes out).
2. ICW Elite Medical display arm in arctic silver.

Sound:

1. Denon AVR-XW7200WA Receiver.
2. KEF HTF8003 Sound Bar.
3. Velodyne 80-MiniVee Subwoofer.
4. Buttkicker LFE.

The drawer:

Motherboard in drawer that will need to be custom mounted:

Definitely the best looking motherboard I've seen!

Just got done installing a Wifi Ranger booster and Weboost LTE booster on motorized raising/lowering antenna mast:

Need good internet to go along with a good computer when on the road!

That's going to be a beast, interested to see the result.

Nice work on the antenna, that looks like a pretty mean camper you have there.

What sort of range are you looking at with that antenna setup?

Spin, from my research I've read I should be able to pick up wifi from about a half mile and LTE around 30-40 miles. All dependant on line of sight/terrain of course. thumb.gif

Weren't you switching to a highly binned 6700k?

I wouldn't put 200mm fans as they do not have very good pressure. You could, however, go for 180mm fans, the silverstone airpenetrators would be great for this if you're aiming for big positive pressure.

Also, for vibrations, you could do custom brackets to help solidify everything, those three big coolers will want to move around quite a bit.

holy smokes VEGA every time you did something crazy i always think, this should be the craziest ever. I'll follow this thread and yes i also agree that the Rampage looks sweet.

Hey, what monitor are you planning on using with the rig? Please don't tell me that you will squeeze a OLED55C6P.... cause that would be bonkers. BTW i almost pulled the trigger on the OLED55 yesterday but i waited. I'll like to wait for discount season to see if i can grab it for less.

Ya, I have a 6700K runs 24/7 at 4.8 GHz. Nice system but decided to build another. This whole 6700K system will probably be for sale if anyone is interested.

Specs:
6700K @ 4.8 GHz 1.43v 24/7 / 4.9 GHz @ 1.45v.
Z170A GAMING M9 ACK
G.SKILL TridentZ Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 4133 (PC4 33000) Intel Z170 Platform Desktop Memory Model F4-4133C19D-16GTZA
Two 512GB Samsung 950 Pro's in RAID 0 for 1TB drive.
Win 10 Pro already installed.

Thanks for the tip! This Corsair fan did seem a little wimpy. I went with this fan:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008VQ2Y2M/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Stinks that it's white but I'll have a black thin mesh filter over it. Hopefully it will do some decent pressure without it getting too loud. I am a silent PC kinda guy. The whole interior of the dinette seat that will house the PC will be lined with sound deadening material. wink.gif

Denny, I will be using the ASUS PG348Q in the Airstream until an OLED monitor comes out. I cannot fit the 55" OLED, just too big!

I went with this display arm (but in silver color to match the Airstream):

https://www.icwusa.com/configurator/#ELP5216-F8X36-WB,37,1,1

Will allow the monitor to swing over by the PC or to over by the couch as you can see in the left side of this pic:

The computer is going under that seat by the glass of wine, in that drawer.
