which gtx 1070 among this 3?

Thread Starter
hi all,
i'm about to buy a gtx 1070,obviously ocing the best i can,
probably adding in future a waterblock,so my choice for now is among this three cards:

1)evga ftw 456 euro
2)msi gaming x 469 euro
3)zotac amp extreme 458 euro

which one?
my choice would be evga considering the dual bios chip(in case any working bios mod come out,is there any out yet?)
and the trustworthy of the brand,
but i don't get much informed bout eventual bugs/problems of specific gtx 1070 models,
so which would you recommend?

ty in advance. smile.gif

I can give you my advice on the MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X i just purchased.

Its absolutely, without a doubt, the best card I have used.

I picked it off from a trust person here on OCN and was told that I would not be disappointed, and i wasnt.

I replaced a referenced 290X for it and can't believe the power. My 290X Referenced use to run almost 25C hotter and sounded like a leaf blower, my new GTX 1070 Gaming X now runs all my games at 1440P (Which i was on 1080P with my 290X) and sits inbetween 60C-65C with the fans never going over 40%, and even at 40% I still can't hear them wind up.

Can confirm the MSI one is true. Love my Gaming X as well as my old 970.
After the QC from EVGA I don't think I'll go back to em if MSI keeps their game up.
Zotac has always been solid too.

I'd lean away from MSI for now. MSI has acknowledged a manufacturing problem affecting a large percentage of cards.

Besides, from my fairly extensive testing it still doesn't keep up with FE.

My GTX 1070 results -

The best FE I've tested - 2,268 MHz through GPUPI1B for a time of 20.662s
The best non-FE I've tested (G1 Gaming) - 2,050 MHz through GPUPI1B for a time of 23.214s

Both speeds are sustained, so while the G1 did peak in the mid 2,100 MHz range it did not sustain the speed.

I'd get the Zotac AMP Extreme for that price. I'd expect it to have the best cooler and it should be a good overclocker.
