Publishers are screwing us over big time. I have no problem playing a fair amount of money for a decent game (like de €50 for Doom or the €20 I bought Factorio for recently, fair price and the game works, unlike most stuff on release these days.)
Most people that torrent games have no intention of buying them: simply because the game is "meh" at best or they simply don't have the money to pay for it.

I quit torrenting movies and series a while ago, just because streaming services are fairly priced and ease of use.

Publishers should learn. You can only screw over your customer to a certain extend. Go further and they quit buying it - resulting in less total profit. (The same goes for Nvidia with the recent cards btw)

It's like how I pay $8 a month for Hulu. And another $4 for ad-free. And I have to pay another $8 for a VPN to access it. And even then I still get errors stating I have an adblocker installed, making it stare at a screen for 30 seconds before being able to watch. So I just open up popcorn time and watch content I should legally be able to watch anyway...except the legal method makes it harder and less convenient.

The base game is already phenomenal, there are a few minor small free DLCs (extra quests, alternative looks for characters etc.), and there is paid DLC - but DLC like it should be: hours long of original content, that's worth the price. Both DLCs add so much content, they could also be seen as extensions.

Now look at most of the AAA titles from the last few years - most are just trash. Ubisoft games are the worst form of this. Only occasionally there is a new game that is still good and exciting (speaking of AAA titles here), examples for this for me would be: Deus Ex, The Witcher.

I actually feel slightly sad that so many people think the Witcher 3 is a good game. I will agree that the story is probably well done since it is based on a book, and that the graphics are great even though it is not to my taste, but God damn was it ever so boring. I've installed and uninstalled it twice now, each time not being able to progress the story for more than 3 hours, the gameplay and quests just feels completely bombastic, but I'll concede it is a good game compared to the other AAA titles out there. I guess this is what happens when you've played a few epic level games, such as Xenoblade Chronicles for example, which to me is superior in all categories except graphics. I also had much more fun playing Borderlands 2, nice rpg/fps goodness.

Hm, so Witcher 3 bores you for for what ever reason? Maybe you're just not the type for it. Also, it is MUCH more interesting if you know the backstory because you're invested in the characters and the story, the politics (the war) are very interesting too. I'd recommend everybody to at least play through Witcher 2 before Witcher 3. I'm half way through my second play through right now, 170 hours in.

On Borderlands: I still like Borderlands 1 way better than 2. Yes Borderlands 2 wasn't bad per se, the addition of the minimap was much needed, but it didn't have that special something about it, the fighting system was way more hectic than in BL1 (fights felt way more annoying than in BL1).
What I liked more in BL1 over BL2: The true "wasteland" feeling that you get in BL1. It didn't feel stale or boring though. I liked the loot system in BL1 better too. I prefer the original classes over those in BL2. I also prefer the humor in BL1 over that in BL2, it was more..sarcastic, ironic, while the humor in BL2 was mostly just childish.
I played through BL2 1 or 2 times, while I played like ~6 times or something through BL1 and it's DLCs.

A mix between both good elements of the games would be nice, like the minimap from BL2, the better graphics from BL2, the skin system from BL2 and maybe the interface from BL2 together with nice wasteland feeling/looking maps, with a similar lootsystem to BL1 and a humor that is more in line with BL1.

Weapons felt better in BL1 too, and I had more fun with the active abilitys of the characters like the punching and phasewalk etc.

The witcher 3 defense force will call you out on that

i quite enjoyed it but it's not the best PC game ever or even the best PC game in the year it was released. In my opinion

Yes, but that's just your personal opinion/preferance. I was talking more about in general:

The Witcher 3 (PC): 93/9.3
MGSV (PC): 91/7.7
Fallout 4 (PC): 84/5.4
Bloodborne (PS4): 92/8.6

Well, they are a pretty good representation though since it's always a few thousand people that score a game (Witcher 3 has like 10k people that score it).

And I understand what you mean, people are different and like different things after all. I just mean what he said:
