Prices should be maximum $10.
That way a lot more people will buy it and not go searching for torrents. Less piracy more profits.

They would lose profit. So why should they? They (game publishers/developers) are not a charity, they are a business.

Well then piracy will flourish. People have better things to do than pay 60 bucks for a stupid video game.

Except at $10, they won't make profit. Game development isn't cheap. A lot of games rival large movies as far as development costs go.

Cheaper they are more can afford it and more will buy it instead bothering with torrents and cracking etc. I will guarantee it.
Devs need to get their thumb out of their rear and wake up and smell the reason for declining profits.

I agree. They do need a fair pricing policy though. Paying $60 in the US is not the same as paying $60 in a western country.
Some games price the games accordingly, some dont.
I paid $15 for The Rise of the Tomb Raider on it's launch day (PC). I don't think I would've bought it for $60.
At the same time, a 1 year old game - Naruto UNS4 is priced at $55 for me.

Then should make free demos for all before they release games (many of them are crap today).

This way everyone will try them and they will not be able to say anything after they buy the game.

What happens now ? They just release a view demo in a big expo like E3 and when the game comes out then....thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

yah remember the days of the original Doom they would release a shareware version with 3 or 4 entire episodes for free, and it was soo good everyone rushed to buy the full game. And iD software made a killing. Literally.

You see, the problem with this is there is literally no excuse to pirating games anymore. Before Steam refunds, there was the argument that you would pirate a game to test it out since devs/pubs don't release demos anymore so if you spent $60 on a game that ended up being terrible, you were stuck with it. If you liked it, you would go on to buy it. Now that there are Steam refunds, if the game is terrible, you ask for a refund and don't buy it again. If $60 is too much, you wait for the sale and buy it then at 50-85% off depending on how generous the devs/pubs are. Personally, I have 134 games right now and I haven't spent more than £450 on those games. That's far less than $10 per game on average.

People who pirate games these days have no intention on paying for those games, no matter how cheap they are.

You seem to be arguing against a point he did not make. He is arguing the legal/ethical standpoint, and you're arguing from a motivation of the offender standpoint. "But they want to" is not a valid response to "it is illegal and should not be allowed".

While I understand the premise and the reasoning of what you propose, $10 wouldn't cut it, but regardless of the price, it's not really devs that are to blame. Like in the movie industry, the people making the damn thing get a fixed rate and everything else goes straight to the top, the publishers. The devs themselves aren't really interested in selling $60 games + $60 season pass + $60 skins, they won't make a dime off it,
