Before Steam refunds, there was the argument that you would pirate a game to test it out since devs/pubs don't release demos anymore so if you spent $60 on a game that ended up being terrible, you were stuck with it. If you liked it, you would go on to buy it. Now that there are Steam refunds, if the game is terrible, you ask for a refund and don't buy it again. If $60 is too much, you wait for the sale and buy it then at 50-85% off depending on how generous the devs/pubs are. Personally, I have 134 games right now and I haven't spent more than £450 on those games. That's far less than $10 per game on average.

People who pirate games these days have no intention on paying for those games, no matter how cheap they are.
you have a point there, but not always you can get the game you're interested on the cheap, I live in south america and 60 dollars here is 2 months pay, the only way I can get a game it's when they price them 5 dollars, I bought fifa 16 for that, the only drm game I ever bought, but on the other hand I bought the witcher months after playing the game after saving for a long time making a great effort and I happily payed the full price because the game was so good that deserve it, plus no drm , that is so much the way to go regarding piracy and developers or publishers just don't get it. The best drm is doing a good game and make it drm free.

People should start remembering how to vote with their wallet and be patient.

I can't, for crying out loud, play all the games and other media I buy. It's physically impossible.

You should worry if you have a massive percentage of piracy, otherwise it is just an indicator of your success.

average cost for a pc title : 1M$
average cost for a console title : 9M$
revenue for either is always in the 100s of millions or billions

please tell me more about how poor, little studios and pubs need my 60$ for the most recent version of their half baked games

Something that you're imprisoned for can never be a right. By definition. So I respectfully disagree with your statement.

Source for any of those claims? I'm particularly interested in that last one.

Even if it's cracked it's kinda late. Denuvo is doing its job pretty well. It lasted more than they expected giving precious time to generate sales. The next Denuvo version will be even harder to crack. This one took many months. And then there are some brilliant exceptions of the rule like the magnificent Witcher 3. Denuvo will keep getting stronger and many titles will feature it in the future that's for sure.

Problem is there's no diferenciation for countries that earn less. Maybe 60 u$d is cheap in USA, but there are many countries where that is a fortune.

I've paid for all my games, but logic clearly doesn't apply to you. I don't fault you for it, though.

Not really. Employ punishments for the said crime and see the crime rate drop. Sure, there would still be people who commit it, but the fear of being persecuted keeps timids at bay. Now, for piracy to be defined correctly, you need to define what goods constitute and its properties to be considered a crime. As far as laws state, there are no laws that clearly define the beneficiary, the damage and the reward or just compensation for piracy anywhere. Or if you have access to such laws, I'd like to read.

Going by that train of thought, you might also club people who use ad blockers as pirates, since they are stealing from hapless multi-national conglomerates.
