Recommend me some High Static Pressure Fans

Hey guys,
as the title says I need a few 120mm Fans to use as intake with dust filters and HDD cages behind them, plus theres a possibility to later put them on a rad.

I want them to offer as high airflow as possible under pressure-conditions, while maintaining sound levels at a bearable level (not necessarily the quietest possible). And of course what matters the most is temperatures, one would expect that the higher the numbers in HAF and SP the lower the temps, but thats not always the case.
Basically, if you read the answer in this thread, Im looking for fans that fit in the "general" category specified
I dont plan on overdoing it like this guy here, but he gets the idea.....

I have seen many similar posts but most of them are outdated and I cant find the fans recommended in there, so I need for experiene on what you use/have used that is still out in the market.

Also, what brands should I generally look for?
From what I found out looking around, there are mixed views on Corsair SP fans, and noctua has a funclub that suggests them over anything. There are also many good impressions from Scythe and Delta fans...

There are a number of good 120mm fans that will fit the bill. Most notable would be the Gentle Typhoon, Vardar, eLoop and Phanteks F120MP. Noctuas are quiet, but their performance in restrictive conditions will not match the previously mentioned. Corsair SP are distinctly a few rungs down the ladder from any of these in terms of performance.

These Scythe Gentle Typhoons are mentioned eveywhere in posts about great pressure fans since 2012, but they are discontinued and nowhere to be found. Do you know with which model scythe replaced them?

The Gentle Typhoon is made by Nidec, and was marketed by Scythe. The distribution agreement came to an end, and GTs are now available with Nidec branding as well as a few private labels:

Thx for the links, looks like Im gonna be getting some Gentle Typhoons biggrin.gif
According to the very few fan reviews I could find they can best any other fan (if we exclude the ones that run at 2500+RPM or make more than 35dB), plus everyone treats them as legendary....

Thats a bit weird however, considering that there are fans rated for higher performance, at least on paper:

The Nidec GentleTyphoon at 1850RPM has 58.3CFM and 2.03mm H2O at 30dB
The Noctua NF-F12 at 1500RPM has 54.97CFM and 2.61mm H2O at 22.4dB
The CM SickleFlow120 at 2000RPM has 69.69CFM and 2.94mm H2O at 19dB
The Corsair SP120 HP at 2350RPM has 62.74CFM and 3.1mm H2O at 35dB
The EK Vardar F3-120 at 1850RPM has 63CFM and 2.24mm H2O at 29.5dB
The NB-eLoop 120 at 2000RMP has 77.92CFM and 2.240mm H2O at 28dB
(The Phanteks F120MP at 1800RPM has 53.3CFM and 1.72mm H2O at 25dB)

Simple explanation - there is no standard to the tests conducted or the way they are conducted, this leaves mfg specs a meaningless. Also, mfg fan tests are done in environments the fan would never be used in. If you would like to look at good, comprehensive fan testing, check out thermalbench.com
