Overclocking my 950m

Thread Starter
Hi everyone I first was made aware of this site months ago by coming across this thread here:

http://www.overclock.net/t/1596850/can-gtx-950m-gddr5-to-be-overclocked-to-match-gtx-960ms-performance

Anyway I have the Asus N550JX with the 950M 2GB DDR3. I find that this GPU overclock phenomenally well. Some examples Mad Max 1080p settings on normal except for high textures - base settings I average about 45-47 FPS. Overclocked I am averaging 54-55. Sleeping Dogs ultra settings has a benchmark of about 52fps and with an overclock I get 59fps (lets round up and call it 60! biggrin.gif).

Now about my overclock settings, this is why I'm here you guys are the gurus so here goes - I have NVIDIA inspector with a base clock of +16 and a memory clock of +249. This brings my bus width to an even 40gb's. To be honest i have noticed absolutely no difference in temperatures at 1 or 2 hr marks while playing usually my gpu stays at around 57-60C. So am I in the safe zone with these overclock numbers, or is my laptop a ticking timebomb?

FYI I came to these overclock numbers by watching this youtube video here:

As long as you stress tested it and passed with no artifacts or crashing the the temps are kept reasonable you should be just fine. the killer in laptops is heat, as long as that is kept in check you should be just fine.
