To be honest, most people will be using a macbook without dGPU, since majority of tasks (at least for the market they are catering for) will be more than happy with the integrated Iris Pro 580 (similar to GTX 950 I presume?). I am in the market for one and will definitely be buying the one without the dGPU.
As for gaming, I don't know, I just don't like the form factor of these machines for gaming, gets loud/hot and starts throttling. People have had decent success with gaming on Intel HD 530/540 so I presume you could still game on just the integrated chip (just on lower detail if triple-A).
For professional use, I have seen many people manage fine with Intel HD 515/520 for 95% of tasks, sometimes it is just a bit slower- so I think the amount of professional workers who would actually need a dGPU given the much upgraded Iris Pro 580, if I had to guess, would be <0.1%.Edited by ma2k5 - 8/12/16 at 6:49am
