Proof? Ideally something like 4,7 Ghz on both and at least 2133/3200 ram. And define margin of error and "in games".

Wouldn't a E5 1620 V3 be a better comparison? Quadcore Haswell with DDR4 memory

5%.

Eurogamer done a video comparing all the high end intel chips , the 6700K was clearly better (in games) than all the other ones (including the X99 chips)

Getting on this 11 page hype train would be stupid I'll wait for actual reviews. thumb.gif

So what makes a CPU core?!
A front end makes something a true core?
Not sharing a FPU block makes it a true core?

The definition of what is a TRUE core doesn't exist. What is true however is that Bulldozer/Piledriver is a stinking pile of dog turd.

I didn't know the performance difference was this small (non existent). I'm seeing devil's canyon even outperforming skylake in some cases. Eye opener. Thank you.

If this is an 8C16T CPU as it shows and it is having trouble competing with a Haswell 4C8T at these current ES clocks. We can only hope that finalized clocks are closer to 3.6GHz to at least have it more competitive with an Intel 4 Core 8 Thread.

Wat. The 5960X is only 3 GHz and the 6900K is only 3.2 GHz. I have no idea how this game scales with CPU frequency but a better comparison would have been to a 5960X.

I'm wondering how you deduced it's good value without knowing the price? Also... I for one am not exactly impressed so far even with a relatively small clock gap showing higher numbers. People seem to be missing out on the fact that the 4670 is 4c4t vs a 8c16t cpu in a benchmark that takes advantage of 8 threads (potentially more). So.... a cpu with 12 more threads to work with coming out in early-mid 2017 is a few frames faster than a quad core cpu based on an architecture that launched in 2013.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love for this to do well as I really want AMD to be competitive but I think some of you are hyping yourself too much without knowing anything concrete. People keep claiming it will be such a good value but do you all really think AMD will, let alone can afford to sell a 8c16t chip as cheaply as the FX is priced currently? Intel will already be near cannon lake at the point of release.. and kaby lake isn't even out yet.

Mark these words, AMD will have a good product here but they will over price the heck out it making it look bad. They do this often. Remember the FX9 series CPU's? Even their RX 470 and 480 are overpriced compared to their competition. The 390 and 390x at launch were overpriced too. I could go on.

The issue is just more than it being way too overpriced at launch, it's that its inevitable price fall over time that makes their brand perception poor. I'm tired of this broken record with them. This CPU needs to launch with better price to performance than intel and not just equal to in niche scenarios.

Don't you sass me with your fanboy garbage either, I'm 100% right.
