Another "check my parts" thread...

Thread Starter
I have a fractal design define R4 right now, but I'm getting an In Win 805.
Asus z97 gaming pro motherboard
i5 4690k
MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X
EVGA 750W G2

Here's my parts list:
GPU Block
CPU Block
Pump
Radiator
Reservoir
Tubing
Disttilled Water

I selected all the fittings from the product page. Are there any other fittings that I need? I plan on doing a fill drain section(see below)

Does anyone have any better suggestions for this setup? Replace something with another part?
Which case under $175 will hold these parts the best? I'd like to avoid cases that look like space ships and excessive mesh. I'm in love with the Ethoo Primo, but I can't justify paying that much for a box to put some parts in(I'm a car guy and I've always been the dude with a 9 sec piece of crap).

I plan on upgrading to a 6-8 core CPU once I see how zen performs. So far, I have pretty much no hope for AMD.

Do I need to flush the system before running it?
Can someone explain how I could build something that allows me to attach a water hose to a piece of tube with a valve coming from a T fitting? Where would I put this? before the pump or after? Could I use it for a drain as well? Just point me to a link if there are any good guides on this.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: Also, would it be a good idea to run another rad?
Edit2: changed case info

I would suggest an EK Supremacy EVO instead of the XSPC. It will match your gpu block. The rest of the parts are good. I suggest just getting distilled water from the grocery store. It will do the job. I would suggest a Define S for a case. You can do a 360 and a 240 rad in it. You should just need 2 fittings per piece of hardware. Make sure you have enough plig fittings to plug extra holes in rad etc. You will definitely want to flush eveything out before you put the loop together. I am a little confused on what your are trying to do for a drain. Maybe try to explain it again.

I would not shop at frozen, there was a huge mess last year and they pretty much shut down. They are basically not trusted anymore and they hosed a lot of people/vendors. PPCS, titan rig on amazon and some others are your best bet.

For tubing, either get the mayhems or primochill advanced LRT. Cheap distilled water from the grocery store is fine.

OK... So basically I want to put a T fitting in the loop somewhere(where ever is best) and out the side part of the T(3rd hole? bottom of the T shape) I want to put a valve to be able to just hook it to another hose to drain the system when I clean it, and use a water hose to flush it out(probably won't need to do this since I won't be using colored coolants though).

I've been looking at the define S, I think ima go with that...

Adding 5 plugs to my shopping cart(switching to titan rig @ Amazon). Thanks!

Wow... that sucks. I've used them years ago, but haven't really seen anything about them in a while. I thought it was kinda strange when I saw someone advertising for them by spamming on the forum. I almost went to PPCS when I saw it, but figured I'd give them the benefit of doubt. Glad you brought it to my attention.

I think I'm reconsidering the tubing. What's a good hard tube? I'm guessing primochill...

If you want to flush your rads/system from the faucet you need a faucet to garden hose adapter and a garden hose to 1/2" barb adapter (or whatever ID tubing you have) and you can set it up something like this

For hard tubing you have to decide between acrylic and PETG. Acrylic will have the most clarity, but can be more difficult to bend and is breakable. The PETG will be easier to bend, but isn't compatible with some fluids and not as clear. I would suggest picking the fittings you like and then using that brand of tubing as well. Some of the tubing sizes are slightly different between manufacturers and their fittings may not work with another brand as well as their own.
Monsoon has some new EV2 fittings that are about to hit ppcs that should work great with any brand of tubing and can be etched with a custom design of your choosing. More info in the monsoon thread if you're interested.

Get a bitspower ball valve fitting for draining.
