Power Supply advice

So I'm sitting here with a very old PC atm. My intial plan was to get a Fury and 1440p freesync monitor and then sell the Fury around the time Vega releases , so that I can make my decision which GPU to get ( Vega , 1070 or 1080). Unfortunately the 1440p monitor's didnt impress me so far (QC issues , not alot of choice). Instead I decided to get a used gtx 580 as temporary solution. To do that , I have to get a better power supply to handle the 580 seeing as my current one won't suffice, but I dont want to buy another power supply by the time Vega comes. My question is what power supply would I need for a potential build later down the line with a Vega/10xx(70/80) and either a skylake or Zen setup , both will pobably get overclocked. My plan was to get a 650W PSU.

Few of us were just talking about PSUs in this range in another thread. Personally, and you will also hear more OCN members here recommend these aswell is that you cant really go wrong with the EVGA SuperNOVAs (G2/P2/T2) series. They are SuperFlower manufactured PSUs, I personally own the 550w and 1600w and absolutely love them. Very strong build, extremely quiet (and they have the silent mode where fan doesnt even come on unless it needs too). Cant go wrong, and the price is there for the quality that you get.

You can scoop the 650W on Amazon for $100 and should definitely be ready for any upgrades you throw its way from what you are saying.

You dont need more then a 550 watt PSU for a system with a single video card
The two best option right now are the Corsair RMx and the EVGA SuperNova G2.

One more question , would the 550W still be enough if I go for a custom waterloop ?

A pump does draw all that much power so no you dont need more wattage as long as you only have one video card
Most gaming system dont draw more then 200-300 watts so a 550 watt is more then enough.
