Sound logical since V stand for 5 in roman and its the fifth generation Titans.
would be weird do release a Titan V after Titan X (Titan from 10-series) although Titan V is a nice name.
They should name it Titan $

In all seriousness, has Volta even taped out yet? How does anybody know anything about it yet?

It probably is or is very close to. Roadmap points to 2018, but that can possibly be pushed to Q4 17. Nvidia knows they're behind when it comes to DX12 and their lack of ACEs so they're most likely full steam ahead to prevent AMD from getting the leg up on them in newer titles. Vega is scheduled for Q1 17 and should pump out some nice numbers in Vulkan/DX12 titles. Think about it, They release the 1080, followed by the 1070 a few weeks later, and then the 1060 a few weeks later again to compete against the RX480. Then out of nowhere they decide to drop the Titan when the 1080 has only had 2 months of market time?

My guess is they're trying to capitalize as much as possible now on those people who are looking for high end components with money burning a hole in their pocket that just cannot wait for Vega when the new Titan is out. Vega is going to be a repeat of the 290x vs OG Titan where a $600 GPU will slaughter the $1200 one, so Nvidia may as well get as many sales as possible right now.

Can barely find any pascal cards in stock and we're already hyping up the next generation of cards?

Pascal gave us twice the jump in performance compared to previous generations since the gtx 400 series, but I have seen so many comments on the forums whining about how it didn't meet their expectations. Same will happen with volta. No matter how good the cards may be, Nvidia and websites like this will hype it up to the point where many people will be disappointed when the benchmarks come out. Nvidia will mention the new architecture is 10x faster at one specific task, and then all these articles will decide that translates to 10x better gaming performance, and then everyone will feel misled when the flagship card can't run every game at 8k 120fps.

Until the reviews come out, I'm just going to expect the usual ~30% increase in performance over the previous generation. If we at least get that much without another jump in price, then I won't be disappointed.

Why not just buy a card that fits your needs.Obviously you won't need this card for high performance gaming.

Not sure what that allow means.
We want faster and better GPUs.
When one company is giving us the top, and we don't want to settle on performance, we but from them.

I don't see a reason to get less performance on the games I play, just to support a company which doesn't bring the performance I want, because maybe, they will in the future in 1-2-3 generations, catch up. It doesn't help me now.

Every single time nVidia release another overpriced product it's a monster. The word is getting so overused it's boring.

Every time CCP released a new update for EVE Online they said it would be epic. It got boring very fast, no different than naming every single one of your products epic. I don't really care if it's AMD or nVidia, labeling everything as a monster is seriously boring.

To be honest I don't know why I'm posting here. Going to play Witcher.
