What is the end goal of this game? Can you build bigger ships? Do you fight populated planets?

tpi2007, you can probably add this as well.

The problem with pre-ordering games these days is it promotes developers to be lazy. They "already have your money".

The whole point of pre-ordering was when big releases came out on physical media. There'a limit to how much can be released in one day so if something like this was going to sell out, you'd have your copy no matter what.

What's the point of pre-ordering a digital game when it's in infinite supply? 5 dollars off the price tag? Useless lazy DLC to entice you to part with your money easier?

As much as I love Steam, since it blew up some years ago removing physical media, developers have gotten even more shoddy with crappy ports and botched releases.

I guess at least now Valve offers refunds, which is a good way to slap a developer in the face since the dev has to supply the whole refund while Valve still keeps their cut, which was why WB took the game off Steam while they fixed it, they were bleeding money/profits.

That's exactly why I said I don't see a issue with pre-ordering as long as it's on Steam.

I see that 5 of my steam friends so far have bought this game. Because of this thread I hit all of them up... All of them love the game and none are having performance issues. This is the problem with this kind of game though... It's not for everyone and it was marketed that way. The people who didn't know what they were getting into and then on top of that had performance issues are really really pissed so they are making lots of noise.

Lied about playing with your friends
Even ps4 main release fps lowers to 15fps in some places
At least a 100 reports of unplayable frame rates on the PC port
If you think 10-14fps on a 980ti is acceptable @ 1080p then I don't have words.

The "just up date your drivers" isn't going to fly here.

A few friends have the game on steam

And most have stop playing after 30mins due to unplayable framerates.

Make it to the center of the galaxy. That's the objective. To speed that objective up, you can get better harvesting tools to get more resources to get better ships. Resources are also used to maintain your ships and stuff.

Think I'll just wait until this is on the Steam Winter sale to pick it up for (probably) $20 or less. Reviews are anywhere from complete crap to awesome and everything in between. I like exploration type games, but the premise to this seems a little like Spore, but without the creativity and progression.

I'm hoping people would actually check out Elite: Dangerous after all this fuss. It at least does what NMS tries to way better. It has flaws, sure, but is infinitely more polished and exciting.
