Why are people unable to differentiate between graphics, art style and aesthetics?

I just ordered the GTX 1070 from Palit. Got tired of waiting and GTX 1080 is practically useless for me.

Not actually surprised one bit that you missed the point that a lot of people are doing the same as me and AMD will be launching a 1070/1080 competitor to a market that doesnt need one..

Do you have data to prove that when and if AMD releases their competition to 1080/70, they'd find empty benches and barren lands and if so, what are they currently on and what demographic and geographic location are we talking about

Of course they'd find demand for their cards, they'll just miss the best occasions to sell them in favor of their only competitor. Regaining 5% of the marketshare is impressive given that amd is selling rx480 only while nvidia has three Pascal cards. Probably not as profitable as selling less cards with 2x-3x bigger price tag but if they tried launching Vega first they might be 6 feet under now.

So why nvidia lost market share in Q2, even though there was a month of 1080/70 selling like hot cakes ? upsidedwnsmiley.gif

there's no point releasing a costly low margin low selling furyx like product when it's not in a state to compete against 1080. it will only hurt them even more.

But that is what I find interesting. Now, this is a bit of a speculation on my part but if AMD did launch Vega first or even along with the entire lineup, those high end parts would be completely picked by the miners who still value AMD cards more than Nvidia. AMD just to keep what happened with Hawaii launch where the 290X after the mining craze dies down, ruined the prices of the entire AMD product stack due to high supply but no demand at bay launched just the basic or lowest performing card to satiate the demand of miners.
P.S. This is without ruling out AMD's incompetency

High performance products are anything but low margin

Selling a 1000 products with a 5 dollar gain per sold unit gives you more profit than selling 10 products with a 100 dollar gain per unit.

only when performance is there and people are willing to pay for it.

980ti vs furyx, i believe amd had less margin because furyx had hbm and clc, compared to normal cooler and gddr5 on 980ti.
