MSRP for 4 and 8GB is 200 and 240usd, and some 4GB model had 8GB

Don't blame the people buying and reselling. They're offering a service to ppl desperate to be first. If people want to pay more than the manufacturer promised, then that's on them. And also of course on the manufacturers who cannot meet demand at launch. Remember when PS3's went for $2500 on Ebay at launch way back in 2006? Remember when PS4's came out and there was no reason to sell one on Ebay because there were enough to go around? Clearly AMD, is doing a little better with Polaris than Sony did with PS3 at meeting demand, but AMD is ultimately responsible for their product not selling at promised prices.
they are not reselling them, they are using them and not for the purpose AMD is selling them for

Being short on demand can be a marketing gimmick too. It makes the product look hotter than it really is.
it isnt an AMD move , indeed AMD should have avoided this rather than selling card to the wrong market

Well.... there is a solution.
You can buy 4K IPS - Freesync (60HZ monitor) cheap... and you can buy RX 480 for (60FPS- medium settings - in well optimized games) or wait for RX 490.

it isnt an AMD move wink.gif instead AMD should have avoided this

Are you saying there's a NVIDIA fan conspiracy to buy AMD cards to take them off the market. I don't believe it, but if true, that would be one of the most pathetic things I've ever heard applaud.gif

yes now in addition to playing at 30 fps I'm also looking at 30Hz for hours
I tried it with my rig and while the animation at 35-40 fps is kind of fluid, a hour of looking at a screen refreshing at sub 40Hz gave me a splitting headache.

I havent said that. people who buys the card are whoever know how profitcable is buying them to make some revenue, and exactly is not re-selling them

Where is the profit if they're not reselling them?

@Mahigan how much do you figure a 1080 with HBM2 would draw if it draws ~180W on DDR5X ? just curious since we touched the topic..

4K is only better in gaming if you have a really big monitor and you sit really close. Granted, many people do. Half the time I play PC games on my TV and 4K is not better than 1080 on TV.

you can't seriously think this is good evidence, 6700K, 4K 100% GPU usage, one game, one source, seriously?

check all the digital foundry i3 tests and so on, check the 3dmark draw calls test using DX11, check star swarm and ashes of the singularity DX11

check actual CPU limited tests, not 4K res 6700K.

DX11 ST is not going to be a disadvantage only if you have a super fast CPU anyway (like a 6700k!), is to GPU limited (like 4K!) or maybe it's using a single core CPU I would think.

AMD invested in Mantle and DX12 early on, Nvidia in DX11 heavily; and it shows.
