EVGA 1080 FTW Stutter

Thread Starter
Hi guys i just recently bought a EVGA 1080 FTW and i am having what i can best describe as microstutter/microfreezes most notably in BF4 but also i think it happening in CS:GO

These are my specs:
Gigabyte z170x ud3
i7 6700K at 4gh for now
16GB DDR5
850W PSU
Benq XL2430T 1080p
EVGA 1080 FTW
Samsung 850 Pro SSD with Windows 7
Samsung 850 Evo SSD with BF4 and other games

Now the performance is quite impressive with the card.. I can get rather high FPS 170 - 200 on 150% resolution scale and settings on high/ultra and everything looks nice except this intermittent stutter or freeze. To begin with i thought it was some kind of server lag but after setting the perpoverlay.graph 1 i can see that there is ~~~~~~~~ a rather straight line on the graph when i am in a building not moving but if i run around i get ~~~||~~|~~~|||~~ GPU lines spiking up and that is where i feel this skip or stutter but only for like half a second but it is enough to notice it and especially when it is happening every 2 - 5 seconds. Still thinking that this could be the game as it is known to be buggy etc and went off trying to research all the fixes and have tried just about everything. Core parking/ renderaheadlimits, power modes etc but nothing has mixed it.

MSI afterburner showing GPU and CPU usuage around 70 - 80% depending on the settings i use GPU 100% at maxed settings. Clock speeds going up to 1960 consistently. Cant seem to figure it out....

So i put my old 7970 card back in and cleaned the drivers etc. And it doesnt have the stutter issue at all. However the fps isnt quite as high obviously but there is no GPU spiking or stutter during gameplay. Which confirms is is the 1080. Now i have tried old drivers and also the new Hot fix driver which is supposed to fix this DPC latency issue but it hasnt changed the stuttering for me.

Im worried i have a dud card and i paid $1300 NZD for the best card out getting ready for BF1 etc and im gutted. Can anyone relate or offer me a solution? Im not confident that this is just a driver issue and will be sorted soon. I feel like this is a serious problem but probably not apparent enough to warrant return...

Did you run Latency Mon:

Try and post back. this might indeed be a DPC Latency Issue.

It's 99% likely that is the DPC Latency Issue. The beta 368.95 drivers have the DPC Latency fix for single cards. Not sure about the new drivers just released if they also include the fix, I know one of the leaked 369 drivers did not. But the newest driver is now 372.54 - anyone know if the DPC latency fix is included in this release?

New Driver still causes DPC latency issues for me. I uninstalled previous driver with DDU.

My DPC did drop down with the new 372.54 drivers, seems to be back to normal for the most part. It usually hovers around 40 with Latencymon, I do have a lot of background apps open also. I still have yet to experience any stuttering issues. I have tested The Division, BF4. Battlefront, Mechwarrior Online, World of warships, SC2. I have not had a chance to test CS:GO yet, but I will this weekend if I can.
