I see the point on LCD's using less power -- my old 19" MAG Innovsion CRT uses three times the power of a 27" gaming LCD, but why did manufacturers just give up on CRT tech? Isn't it possible they could've refined CRT's somehow? There were laser projector TV's, maybe they could've adapted that tech to use in computer monitors?
When I moved from a CRT to a non-gaming IPS AOC 24" panel, I noticed the difference immediately, the lag, the blacks that weren't black, the smearing of bright colors across dark backgrounds.
SED TV's were reportedly already released in 2007?
What happened to them?
