i dont really no if this is the right place to ask this but its bugging me . for whaterver resson i dunno. but ever since i installed my corsair h100 i v2 on my 3570k my cpu seems to emit this wierd vibrating buzzing like high pitch noise.. the pitch gets higher when its under load..its very anoing. wondering what is the cause of this..and if i can fix it somehow..at this point im even considering to replace my motherbord. cpu and ram just to get this **** sorted..its doing my head in. if anyone can shed some light onto this.. i would be greatfull. i have enough problems going on with this pc as it is :S
What you're describing sounds like the noise I now expect most CPUs to make, though it's usually not loud enough to hear over the fans (except in my 10yo MacBook, from which the noise is loud enough to give me a headache).
How loud is it and are you 100% sure the sound is emanating from the CPU?
well i only had that type of sound comming from my h100i when it was in cheap case which only boosted pump vibration. But now i have new case and i cant hear nothing no more, now i dont know if new case help't (it should) but year has passed and i cant hear neither h100i pump buzzin sound nor strix 970 coil whine, your ears adopt to dat type of sound and it fades away
well its coming from were the h100i cpu block is..its not the fans and its not the pump thats as much as i can figure out.iv been stumped about it for quite some time now.

its not the sound were if im in corsiar link and turn the profile frome quiet to performance..its not that sound..im asuiming that is the rmp of the pump..not that. its like an electric frquency noise..i i dunno how els to describe it..its very strange. the case im using at the moment is a cooler master haf x. but i am thinking to upgrad it soon to a phantek model..considering i have sli graphics cards one being watercoold..i though a full tower was needed.so i was going to wait for the ethon elite. or maybe the evga dg 87.though reveiws dont look good on that case..so ..im still a bit not sure. if a fulltower is not needed i would probebly go for somthing like phantek evolv or cooler master master case 5. as there way cheaper then the evga or the phantek elite.
Still sounds like CPU noise to me. It's never occurred to me before to try to do anything about it.
I would suggest:
First, try reverting to stock settings if you're overclocking.
Next, try unplugging fans one at a time just to make sure it isn't any of them.
Then, try reseating the water block on the CPU with fresh TIM.
If none of that works I can't think of anything else yet.
if C stats is C1,C3,C6 report..then this is all allready disabled in my bios. if its something els please tell me how to disable it..otherwise i give up trying.
In that case open Start, type in "Power Options" and hit enter.
In the window that pops up, choose "High Performance" (you may have to "Show additional plans" to see it).
Next click "Change plan settings" then "Change advanced power settings".
In the windows that pops up, scroll down a bit, then expand "Processor power management" then expand "Minimum processor state" and make sure it is set to 100%.
Click OK.
If you still get the noise, even after restarting, it may be something else.

all of the above is already checked. any other ideas...this sound is so anoing. its litraly coming from the cpu block. it dose not stop. i did not have this issue before on my old h100. is this just how this cpu cooler sounds on a z77 motherboard or something?
I'm not familiar with the H100i (have an H110 myself) but I'm assuming you have some sort of "performance settings" in Windows or something like that? Does modifying those make any difference to the sound? The whine may well be the pump which AFAIK is in the CPU block.
My H80i/H100i is making a low "buzzing" noise when the fans are running at low RPM, how do I get rid of it?
Please make sure that you have the latest version of the Corsair Link software. You will also want to make sure that you update your H80i/H100i to the latest available firmware. Please click the links below to get to the product page for your cooler, and then click on the "Downloads" tab to get a direct link to the latest software and firmware. H80i H100i Corsair Link

nope no setting under power management that i know of get rid of the sound im allready on high performance mod with minimum cpu at 100%.. and its not coming from the pump though.its the cpu under the block it seeems..its like ..i dunno how to explain it its like a buzzing electric whin..and when i scroll on webpage or do something like opening a program the wine increeses in pitch. this is very noticible when im loading up a videogame or just playing it.. the whin is very high in pitch.
Sounds like a poor mount or a bad pump. Take the CLC out of the system and run it itself to confirm if it's the CPU, which would be really bizarre, or the CLC pump, which is typical of these devices.
Might also be bubbles or a loss of fluid - put the radiator above the pump by rotating your case to check for bubbles, shake and listen for sloshing when outsode of the system to check for coolant loss.

sorry im not great with this ..isent it dangerous to turn on a pc without a cooler attached to the cpu? and if i do this i would need to remove the TIM and then apply new TIM right? i currently have no TIM though.

Yes, it is. To test the cooler in this way you'll have to use a spare PSU or remove your current PSU from the system/disconnect it from everything but the CLC. You can short the PSU to start it and test the CLC: http://aphnetworks.com/tutorials/psu_paperclip_trick
And yes, you will need more TIM to reinstall the cooler.
Edit: to be clear, I didn't mean to suggest running the PC without a cooler to test for CPU whine (this would be dangerous), but meant to suggest that it is very unlikely that the CPU is whining and that testing the pump would be a good way to deduce the noise's origin/test whether it's the pump or not.
Edit 2: if not the CLC then it is likely your motherboards VRM or a bad PSU. CPUs generally don't shine from the socket.
****..thats sounds bad. what is CLC? i think i have a spare psu around somewere to temp replace the corsiar hx1000 to test on my build but i dont know if thats a good idea as its only a 650watt and its crazy old. and i dont have any TIM to test the cooler either. would be a good TIM to get. also if it turns out there is no whin with the cooler. what do i do?
None of this is a big deal really as long as your temps are fine and the pump doesn't/hasn't failed - don't worry yet! I mean, unless your CPU temps are too high...
It is okay to use the old PSU to test, assuming it's working - just plug your CLC, closed loop cooler, into it (use a molex adapter that should've come with the cooler if needed) and use the paper clip trick to test it for noises and sloshing water.
You will need more TIM to reseat the cooler to your motherboard when you're done. Most perform within a couple of degrees with each other, so whatever is accessible. Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut is a common recommendation that isn't too difficult to apply.

well i am a bit consernd on my cpu temps actualy aswell as this cooler software. as of now i dont have a back fan . just the cpu cooler fan one big fan at the top, front and side and my system at 4.1ghz when surfing web and the like is around 48-50c at fixed 40% and at 44-48c at max 100% but its mad loud and the fan makes a grindy sound when going beyond 90% . trying any of the other settings results in really loud noise and all settings seem to be the same noise level wise. i can only here the fans go down or up in volume when i set it at a custom or fixed rate.
That does sound like a bad seat/installation. What are your ambient/room temperatures? What are the CPU temperatures under load?
If they are okay the I'd worry about the noise first and get better temperatures later. Reinstalling the cooler after testing should help resolve seating issues anyway.

It sounds like you are having a lot of issues! I'd buy some TIM, reseat all coolers (and test both CLCs outside of the case), give it all a clean and see how things look. Still, it sounds like a bad mount or bad OC/too much voltage from my experience. I don't have much experience with z77 so best to search around to see what a reasonable voltage and temperature for 4.1ghz is - a lot of people (and review sites) use this combo so you should get some good info, but your idle and delta temperatures are pretty high.

can you recommend me some good TIM for a i5 3570k? im kind of cluels about what to get now. also all i changed in my bios settings for the overclock was the offset adding 0.025 . my vcore in hw monitor reads 1.232 how are you supposed to mount it properly so it is not bad? i thought i did that correctly. applying even pressure with the 4 screws diagonally..
previously i did apply tim before i got the h100i. but.iv only ever done it once and when i did it i did a pea size in the center of the cpu..and then just pressed the cpu block down over it..i never used a card to spread it evenly though.. when i got the h100i i used white spirit to clean of the tim first before seating the h100i block that had pre applyd tim allready on it again iv only done this procedure once.
