specs:
asus v crosshair z
corsair h115i cooling
corsair vengeance pro 2400mhz 16gb (2x8) at 1866mhz
corsair 750i rm psu
intel 480 ssd

They all have different clock speeds, turbo speed and leakage characteristics. The 9590 is 220 watt. The 8370 and 8350 125 watt. The 8370E 95 watt. The best bet by far if you want a fast but manageable cpu is the 8370.

Why did you get rid of a chip just to turn around and buy the exact same chip at a different factory clock speed?

They are far from being the same. The 9590 is a high leakage 220 watt chip. The others are 125 and a 95 watt chips.

It isn't that easy with the 9590. His main priority would be to get his temps under control. To do this he would have to lower the vcore. This causes stability problems even if you downclock the cpu. Who the heck wants to downclock their cpu especially if it is a 9590?

8370 or 8350 you won't go wrong. Both fast out of the box and unlike the 9590 they are easy to overclock.

I have a 8320. I've overclocked to 5.0 (yes it was stable, documented and stable). I've since gone back to stock settings. I game extreme as well. WTH are you looking for?

Just get the cheapest 8 core FX and overclock it.

Why? The sweet spot is around 4.5 GHz, generally.
