I don't enjoy playing anything on my pc other than CS:GO

Thread Starter
I feel that unless I'm playing a competitive online game, such as CS:GO, I just cannot get myself to play any single player games on the PC. Witcher 3, Dark Souls 3, Fallout 4, and the like, I enjoy much more on the PS4. Maybe I'm getting old, but the idea of being at my PC for a single player game is no longer appealing. Mods and graphical fidelity (I have a 1070 and a 1440p monitor) just don't do it for me anymore. I'd much rather just kick back on the couch with my 65" Samsung.

Has anyone else gotten to this point?

Maybe if I had a 65" Samsung I'd agree. I am really bored playing games lately, but my monitor is so much better than my TV at this point that it's hard to get back in to console gaming. I actually turned my ps3 and wii on last night for the first time in probably over a year and I didn't have a great time. I've had a hankering to play Halo: Reach as I really enjoyed the multiplayer but the fact I would have to PAY for an online service when I already pay for the internet on top of the fact I already paid for the game is ludicrous to me. Uncharted 4 does look pretty cool though...

Only with some of the games I burnt myself out on. New games, sure, I could do the SP campaign several times and enjoy it. After a while though, I just need a break. It's kind of like a movie or a favorite song or album, you can only experience it so many times before you lose interest. Sure, you might gain interest later, but it can take a while.

I was in the same boat before I realized I had to buy a new desk with the proper height and adjust my monitor to make sitting at my PC comfortable. Now I'm back to loving PC games again.

See, that's another thing: I am completely comfortable and relaxed at my computer. I live at it, so it has to be comfortable. Even so, there are games I just don't want to play anymore - at least not right now. The thought of playing them makes me go, "Ugh...it sounds like work".

This is my sentiment exactly. I have booted up Witcher 3 a couple times the past few months and exited before I even loaded the game because the idea of getting to a really cool part in the game could take 20+ hours if I was really dedicated. It also doesn't feel intrinsically fun to me. The Dark Souls series is usually pretty fun but after people stop playing online (or they magically stop support 3440x1440 half way through for some reason) it gets old. The game I've enjoyed the most that I was surprised about was Rocket League since it's super easy to boot up, very easy to find a match, and very easy to have fun. Sometimes it gets depressing too when I have a nice graphics card and yet games like Just Cause 3 can barely run. :sigh:

That's fine. You have a single clearly defined taste. A lot of PC gamers are the same way, whether it's competitive FPS or SC2 or LoL.

I'm the opposite in one way; I can hardly enjoy any multiplayer game. Only single player. Very, very few exceptions, and even with those exceptions only 2-3 are competitive games and I'd still only play maybe once a week if I could.

Although I don't only enjoy one type of game. As time goes on I'm discovering more genres and subgenres that I like.

You can kick back with your 65" Samsung on PC, but I guess if all the benefits of PC don't matter to you anymore then what's the point, right?

I can relate, OP. I had good intentions buying a 1080 to finally be able to enjoy some 1440p goodness on my monitor, but after a few weeks, I'm still using my PS4 controller + TV setup over it (all that power for nothing, sigh). I did play Doom at my desk and I thoroughly enjoyed it, but that was it. Tried D3 and a few other games and it felt nothing but masochistic. In the past, I've had countless hours of fun with CS (especially 1.6), SC1, and D2... but those days are over... Give me that damn TV and couch... As much as I hate controllers, I'm pretty sure I hate computer desks, office chairs, and overpriced monitors even more.
