You can easily do that on your PC. Hell, you can even use a controller. Most video cards within the last 4-5 years have HDMI ports.

Granted I get the idea that remastering these games is done to primarily bring them and sell them again on PS4 and Xbox One but I can't help thinking that we have some last-last-last gen gems on PC that are in dire need of a modern overhaul. It's those games that would deserve a remaster.

Games like (just to name a few there are a lot more):

Command & Conquer;
Fallout;
Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds;
Star Wards Jedi Knight 2 Jedi Outcast;
Star Craft 1 (might actually be in the making at Blizzard)
Diablo (same as above)
Warcraft 2 (same as above)
SimCity 4?
Battlezone 2

Might as well target a consumer base who can afford your product.

Personally its not that I can't afford it. I just have enough games that I don't rush to buy anything. Especially since almost every single game comes out with so many bugs and issues, it is mandatory by now to wait at least 3-4 months after game release to get started with the non buggy version.

these remakes\remasters\redux its all the same, they are for console
i doubt they will improve the graphical quality on pc, you guys can just downsample the originals even with a mid end card and the hud scales perfectly

Awesome!
Will give me an excuse to replay the series! Bioshock(1) is one of my all time favorite games. Been a long time since I played it. I actually started it on Xbox360, playing with my brother, and we never finished it. So I picked it up for PC and played through it and it really captured me. I liked infinite, but more so for Elizabeth, if that makes any sense. Bioshock 2 was fun, I had a good time and enjoyed it, but it took me awhile playing through where as Bioshock 1 and Infinite I could not put down. Every free moment i had was spent playing them.
Never did the Infinite multiplayer thing(it had multi?) or am I thinking of same "wave type" game mode?

My personal opinions on remakes/remasters...doesn't bother me a bit. Just like any other game, if it piques my interest, is playable, I will most likely buy it.

ANOTHER "Remaster" ...
post #28 of 60
I don't get this.

BioShock 1 still is a very visually appealing game, most games that released around 2007 still hold up graphically to this day.
I can understand remasters for a game that's well over a decade old, but for me personally I feel like remasters are just another cash grab.

I can only imagine how little money is put into the remaster versus how much they make, the profit margins are probably astounding.
