80fps on ultra

109fps on high

That is not playable? Stop using the console ports excuse. You either play games or don't. Stop calling anything that shows higher memory usage or higher requirements (we are almost in the year 2017) a crappy port.

I can understand you are upset seeing a RX 470 do better than a 1060 6gb, but it's ok. Rest assured the 1060 3gb will barely touch 30fps, if it even does that is at 1080p considering a 780ti just hits 30fps.

Always feels good to see those AMD rebranded you spout on and on about being 2fps behind a 980ti.

<--- grins at 290x yet again. Hawaii continues to impress.

I've got a 290x too , amazing that it's right up there with a 980ti . It's probably a stock 390x they are using

it was brought out to beat the original titan and now look at it

Yeah, and "high" is only the middle setting. There is still very-high and ultra above. As soon as you add "Contact Hardening Shadows" and "MSAA", you lose 20% each. This is just one of the reviews, there are more to come and some are abysmal. Depending on the settings, even a Fury X can just stay over 60 FPS in Full-HD. If you want to discuss that further, make a new thread please.

Light blue is Ultra settings, dark blue is high. The site specified this (not sure why they did it this way but they did). That said, I see a 980ti at 49fps, a 390x at 47fps and RX 480 8gb at 46fps. All set to ultra. I also see a RX470 4gb at 37fps and 1060 6gb at 35fps when set to ultra.

Don't know what to tell ya.

Even the Fury beats the 1070 at Ultra... Not just the Fury X. And the Fury X is only 3 frames behind the 1080. Impressive.
Well technically if you locked the fps at 30 you could play it at ultra smoothly with an oced 1060 3gb but the vram would be a limiting factor for the very high textures and as already said it is an amd smonsored title, first time i see a fury x beat a stock 980ti by 10 or so fps.The point is as 2017 games approach a 3gb card is not a very good buy or future proof for even a year.

For the ones that didn't check the link;

So with the 1060 3GB you're pretty much stuck at 1080p with very high settings max. As soon as you jump to 1440p, you have to downgrade to high quality. With high settings, the game is just barely playable on the 1060 6GB though, with 35 average FPS. Same goes for Ultra quality at 1080p. From this perspective, the 3GB 1060 does not seem too bad if you're strictly going to use it for 1080p. But the Rx 470/480 cards are obviously still the better alternative.

So, please stop with the slight of hand tactics you are employing, suggesting it's legal. That is not the point. It doesn't matter that there is an *asterisk somewhere on the box to legally protect them. It is dishonest by their own standards... and shady marketing.

I myself had thought it was a 1060 with half the memory. I bet a good many of the people who have not read this thread on OCN, still don't know it's a cut down chip.

We ASSUME it is a 1060 with 3GB...  because why would it be anything else?

Exactly this.

It's interesting how when I say factual things like the ones below Hardware Hoshi somehow misses that post in his reply queue:

They have also launched the GTX 650 Ti Boost, which is a cut GF106 die, essentially just below GTX 660 performance, so yes, they have done it before and it would be the right thing to do here. 1050 Ti would fit just fine.

He rarely responds to facts or logic which is why I don't bother replying to him. He comes into any thread with an agenda and if a well-written post refutes any part of that, he throws stock jargon like 'bad console port' and reiterates his agenda.

Hmmmm, off topic, but I wish they also tested VRAM usage of the FuryX and showed the VRAM vs Dynamic VRAM and how it handles those max settings. You know, since a bunch of people think 4gb of HBM shouldn't be able to handle this game at all at those high/ultra settings...
