Issues with Downclocking at 144Hz 1440p with Nvidia is... Fixed Now?

I... Think??

It appears to be downclocking at idle now, the clockspeeds rise when watching a stream, but do go down again. Can't see much difference now between idle clocks @120Hz vs 144Hz.

This is with a 980ti and a XB270HU, with the latest windows 10 anniversary edition driver 372.54.

Interested to see whether this is the same for others too, or whether there are still any issues with just running 144Hz that I haven't noticed yet.

This has actually been resolved for some time now. I see no difference in idle clocks between 120 and 144Hz, perhaps a negligible bit more power consumption at idle for 144hz, but that's about it.

Several driver releases back, though, it was an issue, and for a time I had the Swift fixed at 120Hz until it was addressed.

Wonderful, I'm not just imagining it then. I looked online to see if anyone had posted about it beforehand and couldn't find anything. That's why I wanted to be sure.

I have this problem big time right now. Doesnt seem to be fixed at all in my opinion. On all of the latest drivers and my 1070 is locked at 1506mHZ on IDLE!!! Its too hot in my case for idle.

Have never had this problem with my 1080, and still don't. First driver I used was 368.39 iirc.

Interesting that you still have this issue. Do you have any background apps that might be causing the high clockspeeds? What are your other system specs, just to be thorough?
