GTX 1060 vs 980m

Thread Starter
Hey all, so I'm looking at the possibly of buying a gaming laptop. Even though as a PC builder this kind of goes against my better judgement, the mobility will be very useful to me.

Nvidia claims that the Pascal gpu's in laptops will rival their desktop counterparts. My question is, if this is true, how do you think it would compare to a 980m?

Only material I could find online comparing the two are automated comparison sites. Would like some educated opinions.

Thanks!

mGTX 1060 > GTX 980M by 10-20%

Pascal is essentially Maxwell IPC with increased clock speed and improved preemption.
