[Build Log] First build since 2006, water cooled gaming rig. ~Project Nebula

Hey everyone, I just pulled the trigger on a new build. I used to be a hard core pc gamer with battlefield 1942 and games of that era. Built my first pentium 4 pc in 2003, upgraded to water cooling in 2006. Moved to console when I went to college (2008), the pentium 4 platform and AGP type video card had run its course and i couldn't play any of new titles.

Flash forward to the current time and place. I have been wanting to get back into pc gaming, build a rig I can develop software with, and be able to later on get a vive to play with.

All the parts were just ordered, stay tuned for a build thread. They should all be here in the next week.

Can't wait to see the build log! But no need for the Monsoon silver plug since your using Mayhems biocide. Most water cooling manufacturers don't recommend silver in loops these days because they interact with the other metals in a bad way.

Thanks for the tip, ill be sure to leave it out of the loop.

Bought a few more finishing touches today:

Qty 2 | EK-AF Pass-Through G1/4 - Black (I am swapping out the bitspower bulk head fittings for these, for a better color match.)
Qty 5 | EK-CSQ Plug G1/4 - Black (2 plugs for the gpu block, 2 for the flow indicator, 1 for the reservoir top.)

I also pulled the trigger and bought some http://www.ensourced.net/ paracord sleeved cable extensions.

Here is the pattern:

The colors map as follows, and the cable wraps are 'glow in the dark':

Orange = Neon Orange
http://www.overclock.net/content/type/61/id/2855826/

Pink = Neon Pink
http://www.overclock.net/content/type/61/id/2855827/

Purple = Light Purple
http://www.overclock.net/content/type/61/id/2855828/

Black = Starry Night
http://www.overclock.net/content/type/61/id/2855829/

Can't wait to see the final product!

Thanks, the purple, pink, and orange is one of my favorite color combos. Im going for a ratio of 2 parts uv pink to 1 part uv green/yellow for the dye, i hope it looks pretty cool.

And have not thought about a name yet, i have no idea what to call it lol.

Been thinking about a build name, and it came to me pretty easily. I have always been interested in space, and fell in love with the orange/purple/pink color sceme when I took astrononmy in college and was able to look at a ton of planetary nebula pictures.

Thus, I name this build "Project Nebula"!

UPS dropped off some goodies from newegg today. Still waiting on the case to ship, and my order from EK with the pump, rad, and water blocks. I forgot how much it sucks waiting for parts lol

Also ordered a few new items today:

Qty 1 | EK-RES X3 - Multiport Top - Black (Was thinking about how I wanted to run the PETG tubing and this top will make it a way cleaner install)
Qty 4 | EK-HDC Fitting 12mm G1/4 - Black
Qty 1 | EK-AF Angled 90 G1/4 Fitting - Black EK-AF-90-G14-BK 2
Qty 1 | Primochill Clear PMMA Plug with Secure Hold - 2x 5mm UV LED
Qty 3 | EK-CSQ Plug G1/4 - Black (just to stay consistent with the new resivor top)
Qty 2 | Corsair Air Series SP120 PWM Quiet Edition High Static Pressure 120mm Fan
Qty 1 | EK-CoolStream PE 240 (Dual)
Qty 1 | DarkSide 5mm DarkSide Connect Modular LED
Qty 1 | DarkSide Connect Dimmable 7.75" Modular LED Strip - UV Rev4 (Balanced)
Qty 1 | DarkSide Connect Cable - 3-Pin - 12" (Type 1)
Qty 1 | Aquacomputer SPLITTY9 splitter for up to 9 fans
Qty 1 | Aquacomputer Aquabus Y-Cable 4-Pin

Yup that's right, going dual rad! A 240mm in the front should allow me to keep this rig nice and quiet when gaming. Also got a few more UV lights for the reservoir and the flow meter.
