Questions about Fittings?& WC Loop Checklist

Thread Starter
I've announced this many times, I'm 100% new to water cooling, and PC building. This will be my first built PC, and first Custom Loop. So I have some questions about fittings?

1. Whats the general use situation between some of these 90 fittings?

2. I've read the difference of C47 & C48 fittings, which will be better for a first time build?

3. Im planning on connecting my tubes with the 90-Degree Multi Link Adapter, will I need anything different? I am not planning on bending tube for first build.

4. Is the Enhance Multi Link adapter for ports like CPU &GPU?

5. Am I missing any fittings, or need anything else added to my part list that could be useful?

Sorry for all the questions, I've been reading for weeks on this forum and others. I have found this is the most ideal place for quality answers. I will probably update this thread with more questions, as I plan on doing a build log once Caselabs starts taking orders again.

SETUP

Caselabs - SMA8
i7-6850k - (Purchasing from SL)
Asus Rampage V E-10 - (Waiting)
EVGA GTX 1080 FTW (SLI) - (Purchased)
Samsung 950 Pro 512gb - (Purchased)
Samsung 850 Pro 1Tb X 2 - (Purchased)
Cablemod Custom Cable Set - (Waiting)
Corsair AXi 1200 - (Purchased)
Corsair Dominator Platinum 3200 MHz (4x16gb) - (Waitng)
NB ELoops B12-PS (PWM) X 13 - (Purchased)
NB ELoops B14-PS (PWM) X 6 - (Purchased)
Top Rad - Nemesis GTX 480
Bottom Side Rad - Nemsis GTX 560
Opposite Bottom Rad - Nemesis GTX 240
Silverstone 8-way PWM Fan Hub X 2 - (Purchased)
Silverstone Y-Splitter PWM X 4 - (Purchased)
Asus Fan EXT Header - (Purchased) (Front 3 Intake Fans)
Aquaero 6XT - (Waiting)
Asus PG348q X 2 - (Waiting/Buying Newer Product)
Logitech 910 Orion Spectrum - (Contemplating)
Logitech G900 or G502 - (Waiting)

I will be looking to add inline temp sensors and flow sensors for the Aquaero, while controlling my pumps/fans with it. Fans will be run at optimal RPM, while maintaining some silence, but not sure what that will be yet.

6. What additional parts will be needed for the Aquaero? I might not use it for my fans.... Haven't decided yet. More for monitoring pumps/loops temps. (yes I know it can be so much more useful, but I'm a beginner. Keeping things simple in mind. As I've seen some of the crazy modding done in the Aquaero thread.)

General Info

I will be doing 2 loops, and plan on using D5's. Most components have been bought and are sitting in boxes waiting on the case. Have not purchased radiators or anything for WC Loops. I will be cooling VRM, CPU, Chipset with one loop, and GPU's with Second loop. Plan on using some sort of pastel, or colored dye. For the majority of the time I will probably use distilled water, and some form of biocide. I'm not sure about going with a clear coolant, or the pros/cons of that vs the distilled water yet.

-SMA8 Questions-

7. What size fan can be put into front flex bay mount in basement of SMA8?

8. How many 120mm fans can be put into Flex Bays before clearance issues with 5.25" bays?

9. Tygon Tubing good quality for basement/backside?

WC Partlist

Thanks for all the help, and I will gladly take any advice. I would love some in depth opinions. Criticism is always welcome, as I'm a NOOB, and this is to be expected.

Some of the Fitting counts were to check inventory, and some were put on there for reference. I'm not 100% sure what all will be needed.

Didn't get to customize it, but better than nothing. Will have to order some parts separate. If I want to do 480 push/pull in top? Will I need a different top? It comes with the 4 cutouts for fans... Not a drop in mount. I also don't see one on the site, am I missing something?

Edit: I'm ordering the 39mm Ventilated top, just a heads up. I know that's needed for push/pull. Wasn't sure about mounting it. Also ordering Silverstone I/O front USB header, PSU bracket, 5.25" bracket for Aquaero 6XT, 560 Side mount, and need to know which other mount is needed for the 240? One next to PSU.... Anything else I should order? That you guys have found helpful?

#1) That's a really broad question. Can you be more specific?

#2) C47's have dual o-rings in the fitting. These are pretty much the standard Bitspower fitting for attaching rigid tubing to blocks, reservoirs, etc.

C48's have a single o-ring and the general rule is to just use these between blocks when you are connecting your tubing between gpu blocks in sli. It's kind of risky to use them anywhere where there could be movement as they are very shallow and only have the single o-ring to hold your tubing in place. Having them between the gpu blocks they are "trapped" in between so it is not really an issue. Hope this makes sense.

#3) As long as you are using 12mm tubing you won't need anything besides an Enhance 90-Degree Dual Multi-Link Adapter to complete a 90 degree turn.

#4) Yes, but you can use other fittings if necessary depending on your tubing runs. Ex. An extender can be used right off the block, res, etc. if you have space constraints for example, or you could use a Enhance Rotary G1/4" 90-Degree Multi-Link Adapter if you want to make a 90 degree turn right out of the block, res, etc.

#5) Without having your tubing runs planned out, this can only be answered hypothetically. I would do some figuring out of how your system will be laid out, and then return to this question later. The answers may become self evident as you do your designing work.

#6-8) I can't answer these questions. My best advice is to seek out specific threads where you are a lot more likely to get answers. For example for questions about the SMA8 go to the SMA8 Owners Club thread and ask there. For the Aquaero go to the giant thread and ask there.

#9) Sure
