Jet engine PS4 anyone?

Maybe some of you guys should actually do some maintenance on your machines biggrin.gif
Day one PS4 and I've had zero issues. And that's with the darn thing running 5~10 hrs playing BF4/Bloodborne. And unlike most I had my PS4 in the computer room sitting on the desk only a foot away from me.

Yeah, I have a day 1 launch PS4, played almost daily, and I've only ever heard the fan at full speed like twice. It's very quiet.

OT, this new design is pretty ugly and some details lead me to believe that it's fake, but whatever. I have no reason to get a slim.

I don't see why so much hate.. I actually like this look.
I don't mind its look too much. I actually never really like the look of the PS4. Too edgy for me. I love the look of the X1S.

Here's the thing, the X1S has a lot going for it at tomorrows (8/23/16) sku cost of $299. Besides getting the Halo 5, Halo MCC, you're also getting a 4k blu-ray, 4k upscaling and HDR. If this launches at $299, it'll be a laughing stock. If it launches at $249, now we're talking. You can PS fanboy me all you want, the PS4 slim at $299 is a joke. Heck, the PS4 at $299 in general now is a joke.

One other thing, can we still install our own HDD? That's a big selling point for some people.

When you look at pictures on the back you can still see a big square outline for something, I'm guessing functionality is the same between the launch PS4 and the Slim.

That being said, the Xbone S...

Xbones?

This keeps getting better.

With the Xbox One S having HDR support, a lot of people who are crazy for color depth but not so much for resolution will basically consider the Xbones to be one of the biggest graphical upgrades ever.
Not to mention the UHD Bluray player.

So the console market for this fall gets chopped up into three segments.
Neo: High end
Xbones: Mid range
PS4: The "low" end option (barring the fact that PS4 is still 50% more powerful than the Xbones).

Gotta go with this.

2016, HDMI receivers are cheap. Accessories4less is a great place to get a good deal on one.

If sticking to the old unit is a must, almost all TV's have an optical port output. Though most older models don't have the ability to passthrough DD/DTS from HDMI to Optical. Which is why I have a HDMI receiver for my bedroom.

I hate that sony always makes their slim versions so cheap looking and built. Getting rid of touch switches and going for a cheap budget look. Though I hated the PS4's touch buttons, always get them confused as they are next to each other not labeled clearly. Almost every time I go to take the disc out, I turn the stupid thing off. That and the fact the fans can get a little loud for a newer console, and the new one doesn't look any better in that regard.

While my XB1 is easy to use and very quiet.
