Working on a website, tell me what needs to be fixed.

I have been the last couple of months working on a website called Icereviews. It's using a template provided by Squarespace and I just recently updated it with a new template that I am still working on.

www.icereviews.com

I have the site locked with a password while I am fixing the template, please tell me what you guys would like to see updated and If there is anything you don't like about the reviews I have uploaded to the site.

the password is ice123

I know it is a bit raw, I am working on fixing the site logo and a few other things.

Good job!

Theme is too bright for my taste. A lot of people read reviews after work and late evening, cater to their eyes, don't blind them with overbrightness.
Use same size images for reviews.
When an image is PNG or with background that matches the theme, apply a 2px semi-transparent border in a lighter or darker shade.
Experiment with fonts and font sizes.

I'm not a fan of the "Latest articles" section in a review page. If I want the latest, I'll go to the home page, if I opened a review, I'm interested in that review particularly. Perhaps replace with "Similar articles"? That will have a use case at least.

Keep up, you're doing great thumb.gif

PS: Frozen header on scroll-down is broken in IE11, background is missing.
PSS: Clicking "show comments" sends me to the top of the article.

Thank you for the help!

Yeah I am considering adding darker frames to each side of the website to tone it down a bit.

I knew about the image size differentiation and will get that sorted out, mostly just lack of experience from myself.

The latest article section i'm not too sure about either. I am going to work on getting a news section sorted out also with rumours and more and I might use this sidebar for the latest news, or not.

The header will be fixed in a way that it won't follow you down when you scroll, just have it attached to the top, just looking for the correct code to inject in to the template to stop that.

Didn't know about the comment issue and will take a look at that.

Huge help having someone else look at the site before launch, so many things you stop noticing when you look at the page all day.

I agree, there is a reason why uninformed peer reviews are a major part of some project development methodologies smile.gif When you spend a lot of time working on something you just start to ignore some details. I'm the same way with my projects.
