Maybe looking for an upgrade from my 780

Hey guys,

I have an EVGA 780 superclocked ACX. I'm at a crossroads right now ... do I buy new 10 series NV GPU, or do I SLI the 780 I have already? Going by ebay pricing it would be somewhere between 150-190 to SLI my current card. As an FYI -- they only have 3GB of ram though and I do play at 4k ....

Now, I don't play a lot of games that require a super nice GPU, mainly just the new WoW xpac and League of Legends. What do you guys think?

If what you play does not require GPU grunt to run, I'd keep your 780 and wait until they give up or you give them up. Maybe that is just an itch that you could scratch by some other means.

Yeah, but when I was in Legion earlier I maxed out my GPU. 95% ram and 100% usage... I know I need more processing power.

So, get a 1060 OR another 780??? =o ....

780 would run me maybe 180 with shipping whereas the 1060 would be 250 with shipping.

Now that I'm thinking about it .... I could get the 1060 then sell the 780 right? Or is that not even worth it?

For wow and league of legends I would get the 1060 6gb.

You can't just slap another card in there you know.

1) I don't play LoL, but I don't think it even supports SLI. Scaling isn't 100%, sometimes adding in a second card is even detrimental.
2) Your 650W PSU is insufficient for 2X 780s sucking up 540W for graphics alone: And then you have a 5820 to feed.
3) You'll have to rethink thermals. Your room will also get significantly hotter too.
4) 780s don't support the advanced features of DX12 so you'all be leaving performance on the table by buying an obsolete product.

I think you have an obvious choice.
