Asus dual GTX1060 ppd - Page 3

I have an R9 290 I've been folding on 24/7 for 18 months, it regularly sits >90°c. I have yet to kill a card folding, but I have certainly tried. +1 for fan failures, I had a 7970 that dropped both fan blades inside my case and still lived.

I have had many GPUs (more than 20) that have run full tilt for multiple years, and I have only had 2 that outright died. Both of those cards were heavily over-volted and overclocked, and they were also running GPGPU work that is quite a bit more taxing than F@H.

If you keep temps in check, then GPUs will generally outlast their usefulness. thumb.gif

What kind of temps where you getting on those cards, now that the ambient temp is warming up my card can sometimes hit 77 C

I have a zotac GeForce gtx 1060 x 6gb single, 1708 MHz overclocked to 2100 and my i5 6600k 3.5 is over clocked to 4.09. I thought you could not sli 1060, just running them for the points? anyway. I have been running 76k to 260k per day with the single. on team 142900, NVidia user to user forum. non sponsored. we are in position 131 now bouncing up and down.

You don't run SLI to fold. http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_summary.php?s=&t=142900

If you don't fold at least 20/7 you lose your quick return bonus points. (QRB) Your points would lead me to think that you don't have a folding passkey and it is required to get the QRB.

20/7 folding only applies to our Team competition site and as far as I am aware, has nothing to do with QRB's smile.gif

https://folding.stanford.edu/home/faq/faq-points/
Taken from the above site:

"What are the qualifications for the QRB?

The bonus is applied for users who use a passkey, have successfully returned at least 10 bonus-eligible WUs, have successfully returned 80% or more of assigned WUs, and returned the unit before its Timeout (formerly Preferred Deadline). Bonus points do not apply to partial returns."
What lanofsong said is correct. Provided you maintain the 80% or more tasks competed you will retain your quick return bonus, even if you only fold one work unit per day/week/month/etc. Fold as much or as little as you are able smile.gif

I meant what I said. The longer you take to complete a WU the less the QRB will be and 20/7 was just a reference. Some people will start a WU, finish it days later and wonder what is going on. I can't believe you tried to take me to school. tongue.gif
