Deus Ex is not optimized for PC - Page 3

post #21 of 117
5 hours in, I'm liking it so far. FPS wise, without msaa I get 30 and above, with msaa x2 it dips below 30 sometimes. somwhere glitchy - some NPCs trying go through things and as result they are "walking" without moving.

dont get it "they're selling guns in game, don't support it" thing. why it should bother me, if you still can get this stuff ingame for ingame currency?

I know the solution, instead of verifying settings, reinstalling, waiting at least 24 hours to double check for more users with similar systems.. let's just return it and save $60. How dare a game not run to what I feel my system should run it at!!!! There are people with lesser systems getting better performance so clearly either settings that shouldn't be cranked to 11 are being used or it's just a case where SLI isn't properly being used on a launch title.

All the store items can be found in game? Thats not bad then. I thought it would have been worse if they were selling ammo in the shop.

It's a Hitman engine what do you expect...
We can only hope the DX12 version will run faster. But seeing how odd Hitman can be I wouldn't count on some magic massive increases like DOOM.

It's a newer game and DX always ran like crap so no wonder it eats GPUs hard. DX1,2 from what I remember ran relatively slow and GPU demanding at their time of launch too, Unreal Engine or what it was back then not the fastest engine at all maybe still not even today.

if Deus Ex is having so many performance problems on the PC (even on GTX 1080's!) how is it running on consoles?
post #27 of 117
Big problem for me is the flickering. I get it often when I interact with gas laden environments or sometimes for no reason at all. I have to reload the last save game to get rid of them. They need to fix that pronto.

Another thing I found funny is that he has all these super powers in Dubai (opening mission), but wait he does not have them after and did not even know about these secret powers embedded in his augs. Who writes these games anyway?

Edit;

To OP, you might want to make this the Official Deux Ex Mankind Divided thread, since no one has started one yet.

I honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong with the settings as I have a pair of 980Ti at their stock 1350 and I cannot get a stable 60 at 1440p, can't even begin to imagine the type of performance I'd get at 4K.

game probably doesn't work well with sli yet. Runs fine on my single TXP.

I'm pretty certain SLI is working as intended (GPU utilization is 70%+ on both cards) and it's just that the jumps in resolution are too brutal to handle.

Dropping down to 1080p nets me a significant jump in frame rates across the board, and it's what I've gone with since the game feels much smoother and less motion sickness for me.
