I thought they have a braided metal shielding inside.

NEVER.

Have only removed braided cables but never opened up a Microsoft Cable in my life.

It's been a couple of years since I stripped the cable on a WMO but IIRC it had a copper braided shield and a aluminum tape/foil shield under that.

Shielding is necessary for low power devices with long cables.. which is why you shouldn't strip it.

Only to Mouse Hipsters who don't know anything about Mice..

It's just not a practical mouse, because the default dpi doesn't work well for desktop use..

And the WMO especially is not good, because the button flaps would grind up against the mousewheel if you pressed them too hard..

AND the wmo/ imo/ime all use the same wheel tensioner system which AT THIS POINT, have all lost their spring-ee-ness..

You can do my WMO mods to fix all these problems, but then ask yourself, you went from a $7 used mouse, into roughly a ~$35, including the labor ~$50..

You might as well just buy a new Logitech G Pro which has a very similar profile to the WMO, if you look at it from the side, they're almost identical, the GPRO has a more tapered back, but it still feels similar to the WMO in the hand because the back of your hand doesn't really contact the mouse anyway, due to the larger middle hump

To you, personally. Don't hate on me, I use 800.

Mine do experience this but I have to use an extraordinary amount of force.

Not if you're lucky enough to get a brand new, sealed system builder 3-pack thumb.gif

Better than buying an expensive mouse and having to make similar mods due to its lack of quality ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Fair enough but not everone grips the same mouse identically.

Damn, thanks for showing it, personally I would never strip it for fear of stuffing it up. Then again, MIcrosoft did go overboard with engineering these input devices.

Just always left well enough alone and only opened it up to clean and remove years of usage.
